Bug:
background_task joined the worker thread with .expect(...). Any panic
inside a background closure (decoding a malformed file, an unexpected
None) was re-raised on the main thread and took the whole application
down, even though the worker's failure was already contained.
Reproduce:
1. Run an operation that executes in a background worker, e.g. loading
or converting a deliberately corrupted file whose decoder panics.
2. Before: the process dies with the worker's panic message.
3. After: the command line shows "background task failed: <label> -
<panic>" and the application keeps running.
Fix:
The worker closure is wrapped in catch_unwind; a panic is converted to
Message::BackgroundTaskFailed(context, message) delivered back to the
update loop and surfaced as a command-line error. Each call site passes
a context label naming the operation. A failed thread join (thread
aborted) is handled the same way instead of expect().
Bug:
Message::TabClose carried a vector index captured when the view message
was built. Closing several tabs in one batch (Close All / Close Others
with unsaved-changes dialogs, or a queue of continuation updates) let an
earlier close shift the vector before a later TabClose(idx) was handled:
self.tabs.remove(idx) either panicked (index past the end) or closed a
different tab than the one the user confirmed.
Reproduce:
1. Open several drawings and modify each so they all prompt on close.
2. Use Close All, or close two tabs in quick succession so both messages
are handled in one batch.
3. Before: panic in remove(idx), or the wrong tab closes while the tab
the user chose stays open (or its work is lost).
4. After: the chosen tab closes; an id already closed by an earlier
message is a no-op.
Fix:
TabClose now carries the tab's stable u64 id, resolved to a vector
position when the message is handled, not when it is built;
PendingClose::Tab stores ids the same way. All construction sites pass
tab.id (a raw usize index no longer type-checks), and
DocTabCloseAll/DocTabCloseOthers build their queues from live ids at
handling time. A missing id means the tab is already gone, so the
handler returns Task::none().
The STEP header timestamp used SystemTime, which panics on wasm, and the
exports wrote through std::fs, which the browser does not have.

The mask is filled with the canvas colour; plotting carried that dark
colour (or the light-to-black rule) onto the sheet.

Properties… in the Plot dialog froze the application on Windows.
`on_printer_properties` called `DocumentPropertiesW` with `DM_IN_PROMPT`
from inside the closure handed to `iced::window::run`, and iced runs that
closure synchronously on the winit event-loop thread. The driver's
property sheet wants to run its own modal message loop on that same
thread, so the two loops collide: the sheet is never created at all, the
window stops painting, and the thread spins at 100% of one core with no
way back.
Measured on Windows 11 x86-64: the pinned thread is the window's own UI
thread, and compstui.dll plus the driver's PrintConfig.dll are loaded
into the process, so execution does reach the driver's property-sheet
code and never leaves it. It reproduces with a physical printer as
readily as with Microsoft Print to PDF, so the mechanism was broken for
every printer, not only the virtual one named in the report.
The system's own printing-preferences UI is now started as a separate
process, which pumps its own messages and leaves ours free, so the
freeze is impossible by construction rather than merely unlikely. The
command that does it already existed for the case where no printer is
selected; it now serves a named printer too, and the in-process modal
path is gone. Preferences still reach the job: the sheet writes the
per-user DEVMODE that the plot path reads back through
`DocumentPropertiesW`, which was confirmed by changing the orientation
in the sheet and watching the value the plot path reads change with it.
The new test pins down that the printer name must reach `printui` as a
single argument: split across several it matches nothing and the process
exits 0 without drawing anything, which would be a failure with nothing
to show the user.

- The Frames list shows the drawing's frame state (hide / display and plot /
display but not plot / frames vary), follows commands, undo and document
switches, and lists the mixed state as a disabled item.
- DWFFRAME and DGNFRAME are frame variables of their own, kept in the header,
and FRAME sets them with the others.
- Out-of-range frame values say "Requires an integer between 0 and 2." and
ask again; a set value reports "Regenerating model.".
- IMAGEFRAME is stored in the image variables as bits (2 is written as 3) and
a drawing without them uses the profile value, which setting IMAGEFRAME
updates and the settings file keeps.
- Raster images, PDF underlays and wipeouts are picked on their frame only;
underlay snap geometry is never picked.

The codec and kernel repositories and crates are renamed opencadcodec and
opencadkernel. Inside OCS they are depended on under short keys, so code
reads `codec::`, `kernel::` and the new `graph::` (opencadgraph, the node
graph engine). File-format and protocol spellings stay as they were: the
ACIS product id `acadrust`, the ACADRUST_* switches and the plugin
version keys `acadrust_version` / `acadrust_source`.
A button left of MCP on the command line opens a translucent node graph
over the viewport, with a palette of object, input, math, logic, list,
text and geometry nodes added by click or drag. An object node owns
drawing entities and its rows are the Properties panel's own rows for
them: the single-object page is extracted from refresh_properties as
entity_property_sections, values use the control protocol's
property_json, and writes go through set_property_value with a property
target override, so the panel, MCP and the graph share one read/write
path. A list reaching an object row makes one entity per element. Each
graph action is one undo step; the canvas pans and zooms.

- `--export ... --target-version`, and explicit target_format /
target_version on automation and protocol saves; a conversion that
would drop unsupported records is refused unless allow_lossy is set.
- `audit` read op: dangling layers/blocks, duplicate handles, non-finite
bounds, serialization, lossy records and the source DXF handle graph.
- `save_verified`: writes the requested version from the same snapshot a
normal save writes, reopens it, checks the version and the entity
manifest, audits the ASCII DXF handle graph and returns a SHA-256.
- ZOOM EXTENTS includes SDF text glyphs.
- Live MCP acceptance script and an optional reference-console audit
runner under docs/automation.
Squashed from the PR with review fixes: merged with the DWT save path,
the save snapshot, the tool lists added since, and vendor-neutral
harness names; the dated verification record is left out.

New drawings now default to metre insertion units, and the plot dialog
reads a ratio against the drawing's units, so these tests (written for
millimetres) saw 1:100 as 10 mm per unit. The metre case keeps its own
test.

The operations docs/automation/API-SPEC.md (PR #1383) describes, brought
over from huaninstratech/OpenCADStudio so the specification no longer runs
ahead of the code:
- entity CRUD: entities_create, entities_delete, entities_transform,
entities_copy_to, and `where` filters on query
- blocks and export: block_define, block_delete, a normalised wblock
- publishing: layout_create, page_setup_set, plot (per_page included)
- metadata: sysvar, xdata_set / xdata_get, file_identity
- collections: group_create, selection_set_save / load
- control plane: batch, events, view_focus, close
- the REST transport: `--http <port>`, the /api/v1 routes and their
OpenAPI 3 description
- person-in-the-loop picks: user_select and getpoint, hosted by the GUI
over the same REST routes, with on-screen pending signals

Left out on purpose: 37de5a46 also removed the donation surface (the

DONATE command and its locale strings) and replaced the About dialog's call
to action; that is the fork's own product decision and stays out. The
fork's version bump and its unrelated IFC/BIM work are not part of this.
Adapted while porting: the REST server and the GUI bridge are desktop-only
and a template start is refused in the web build, so the wasm target still
compiles; the two plot tests read the PDF through the shared stream helper,
because exported streams are Flate-compressed; the benches set the new
crosshair field; comments and docs describe each operation in its own
terms rather than by another product's API names.

The reference follows the cursor while its insertion point, scale or
rotation is asked (preview-only PScale/PX/PY/PZ/PRotate included); a

The bundled `opencad.python` plugin drives OCS through plugin API v7: all
43 canvas entity kinds, the drawing tables, and OCS's own commands run
step by step. RustPython stays in the plugin process — the plugin crate is
outside the workspace with its own lock file, so the application's own
dependencies are unchanged.
Reconciled with the plugin command work that landed as #1425, which the
branch was written before:
- Both added `impl Drop for PluginProcessInteractiveAdapter`, which git
merges silently into two impls that do not compile. One body now
cancels the command and then drops it from the runner, in that order: a
plugin waiting on a step has to be released before the runner forgets
the command.
- `execute_command` (#1425) and `run_command` (#1423) are both routes from
a script to the command line, and only the second was guarded. The
SCRIPTCOMMANDS switch and the denylist are shared now, so neither route
is the unguarded one.
- `run_command` dispatched with plugin dispatch still enabled, so a script
naming a plugin command re-entered the plugin that was blocked waiting
for it. It sets the suppression flag for the length of the dispatch, as
`execute_command` does.
The denylist read the command as typed, while the dispatcher resolves
aliases: a user-defined `Q` for `QUIT` (ALIASEDIT writes those) walked
past it. It resolves the alias first.
Also: the active-command comparison ran on every message, a mouse move
included, allocating two strings for names that are already `&'static
str`; SCRIPTCOMMANDS' own messages go through the translation macros; and
`docs/.DS_Store` (now ignored) and an unrelated RTF note about constraint
commands are out of the tree.

A saved user preference (on by default) toggled by the SCRIPTCOMMANDS command
gates HostApi::run_command; Cancel stays allowed so a waiting command is never
stranded. The runner refuses the SCRIPTCOMMANDS command itself, so a script
cannot change it. Documents why no helper-thread or stack-growing dependency was
added: native builds link with at least 8 MiB, the nesting depth is fixed, and the
deepest step found needs 2 to 4 MiB in a debug build.

DCFORM sets the annotational or dynamic form and continues into the
DIMCONSTRAINT option prompt, whose wording and last-used default match the
reference. -PARAMETERS manages parameters from the command line; a
double-clicked constraint dimension opens its value prompt. Dynamic
dimensions rescale on every camera change and their display overrides stay
out of the saved file. A driving dimension between an entity's own ends no
longer has its length retained, so a new value moves the second point along
the dimension axis; parameter edits hold the first constraint point.

- tests/fixtures/plot/.page-setups-metric.dxf.ocs.lock was the app's own
single-instance lock file, committed by accident in #1343; remove it and
ignore *.ocs.lock.
- load_plotsettings_into_dialog: #1343's refresh_custom_scale_fields borrowed
self while #1360 still wrote through the plot_dialog borrow; write the
style error first.
- The wasm list_printers stub returns the Result #1358 gave the native one.

Tables copied from other applications into the plot styles folder were
listed but refused on selection, showing as "missing" with the reason
lost on a console: the loader failed hard on a checksum or a text length
that did not add up and on any non-UTF-8 byte — and those files carry
their descriptions in Windows-1252.
- decompress_ctb reads the file as it is: a checksum or length mismatch is
reported and read past (a genuinely cut-off file is still an error), a
zlib stream with a bad trailer is retried as raw deflate, and text that
is not UTF-8 is read as Windows-1252 (pens and colours are numbers and
unaffected; other code pages only show wrong characters in descriptions).
- PlotStyleTable carries load_warnings; every load site reports them on the
command line, so a table that needed tolerance says so.
- load_named explains itself: a .stb name says named tables are not
supported yet, a .ctb missing from the folder says which folder to copy
it into (instead of "Unknown built-in plot style").
- The Plot dialog shows the reason under the Table row (style_error) —
from a selection, from a page setup that names a table, and from the
Load… picker, whose error used to be swallowed.
- A table picked with Load… from outside the plot styles folder is copied
into it (unless a file of that name is already there), so it is listed
from then on and page setups naming it resolve after a restart.
Tests: flipped checksum, text length off by one, a short payload field,
Windows-1252 descriptions, a truncated stream, .stb and missing names.

On Windows a plot with no printer chosen went to the PDF application's
bare "print" verb — whatever that application considered its default —
and a viewer without a "printto" verb (Edge, store readers) silently
dropped the printer the dialog had chosen. The dialog also never named the
system default, and a failed printer enumeration left only "Default" and
"PDF" with the reason written to a console nobody sees.
- The default printer is looked up by name (GetDefaultPrinterW) both for
the dialog's "System default printer (…)" entry and before every job.
- A pure route decision (plan_print_route) resolves "Default" to that
name and uses the PDF application only when it registered a "printto"
verb for .pdf (AssocQueryStringW); otherwise the job goes straight to
the spooler through the existing GDI path. The report says which:
"Sent to printer: NAME (direct print | via the PDF application)".
- list_printers reports the system's own error; the plot dialog shows it
under the printer row and the command line warns once. A desktop without
CUPS is an empty list, not an error.
- PRINTERS command: default printer, listed printers (or the error) and,
on Windows, the print route — a report to paste into an issue.
- Properties… on the Default entry opens that printer's preferences sheet.
- GDI path: the driver's dmSize is kept (its private data lives behind
it), the print raster is no longer memoised for the session, and a
spooled temporary PDF is removed.
Tests: route planning (named / blank / no default / printto or not), the
PRINTERS command; the two Windows-only GDI tests pass the resolved name.

- PSETUPIN / -PSETUPIN: with no arguments a file picker offers the chosen
drawing's named page setups in the Plot dialog; `PSETUPIN <file>` opens
the same chooser on that file; `PSETUPIN <file> *` or
`PSETUPIN <file> name,name` import straight away. Same-named setups are
replaced, the import is one undo step, and the report counts both.
- The Plot dialog's page-setup list gains "Import…": the chooser shows the
source drawing's setups with a tick each, All, Import and Cancel, and
selects the first imported setup afterwards. The source is read off the
UI thread with the same reader the editor uses for its own setups
(`scene::document_page_setups`), and handles that only meant something
in the source drawing (plot view, visual style) are dropped on import.
- Options → General → Plotting: "Show the page setup for new layouts"
opens the Plot / Page Setup dialog whenever a layout is created
(persisted with the plot preferences).
Tests: the document reader, the command (all / named / unknown / missing
file / undo) against a drawing saved by the app, the chooser flow, and the
new-layout option. Nine new strings in all 21 locales.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Plot dialog:
- "Units" (millimetres / inches) is the page setup's own unit: the offsets
and the custom scale are shown in it, the stored ratio converts with it
so the plotted result and the paper space's unit stay the same
- "Custom: [paper] mm = [drawing] units" spells the picked scale in that
unit and accepts a typed ratio, which selects the list's name for it or
becomes a ratio entry of its own
- "Hide paperspace objects" is the page setup's plot-hidden flag; it is no
longer derived from the "Hidden Line" shade mode
- "Save changes to layout" (paper layouts, on by default) writes the dialog
into the layout when a plot is sent; previews never touch it
- offsets are labelled in the page-setup unit and kept in millimetres in
the file
System variables (typeable, through SETVAR, listed by SETVAR ?):
- PLOTOFFSET, PAPERUPDATE, PLOTROTMODE, PLOTTRANSPARENCYOVERRIDE and
BACKGROUNDPLOT live with the persisted plot preferences: the plot origin
counts from the printable corner unless PLOTOFFSET says the paper edge;
a printer that does not list the sheet either warns or switches to its
default sheet; transparency can be forced on or off; BACKGROUNDPLOT bit 1
is the dialog's background switch and bit 2 drives batch plots
- CTAB and TILEMODE read and switch the current layout
Tests cover every new control and variable; six new strings in all 21
locales; the Plot dialog grows to 940×690 for the two extra rows.

On the web build, {"op":"open","path":…} resolves the name against the
browser's recent-files cache, so a file that is not already there cannot be
opened by the control channel. Accept {"op":"open","name":…,
"data_base64":…} instead: the bytes go through the same parse, caching
and recovery path as a file chosen in the browser picker
(io::open_bytes_web, now shared with pick_and_load_web).
Native builds keep path-based open and reject data_base64 with
invalid_request.
Refs #1349
- app_with_fixture embedded CARGO_MANIFEST_DIR straight into an
automation JSON string; on Windows the backslashes become invalid
JSON escapes and the open failed. Build the payload with json!.
- driver_options_are_edited_remembered_and_sent_with_the_job exercises
the CUPS options editor, which Windows never opens (PrinterProperties
routes to the system dialog there); gate it to non-Windows.
A drawing saved by a commercial CAD application (tests/fixtures/plot,
provided by Panos: one 10 m line, three layouts) corrects several
assumptions of the previous commit:
- rotation is relative to the medium's own orientation: an unchanged sheet
keeps the driver's exact medium (its PDF driver lists landscape media of
its own, written with rotation 0; a system printer's portrait A3 plotted
landscape carries 90); only a newly picked sheet is written as the
catalogue's portrait medium
- the stored scale factor (DXF 147) is the ratio × 25.4 on millimetre page
setups and the plain ratio on inch ones; the "use standard scale" bit
stays clear for standard and custom scales and is set for fit-to-paper;
a standard code is kept across a paper-unit conversion ("1:1" on an
inch page setup over a millimetre paper space is 1 in = 25.4 units)
- layout plots take the same scale path as every other area, so a foreign
layout's paper-space unit survives
- "plot with plot styles" / "display plot styles" round-trip as the
dialog's checkboxes, independent of a style table being named
- layout limits place the sheet at minus its displayed margins, the way the
source application does (the printable corner is the paper-space origin);
the margin ↔ rotation mapping shared by the printable-area guide now
turns the medium's top margin into the layout's left one at 90°
The fixture round-trips through the dialog with every stored field
unchanged; picking a new sheet on it writes the canonical form.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
One writer (plot_settings_from_dialog) now serves both the layout's embedded
settings and named page setups, so the two can no longer drift apart:
- media are stored as the portrait sheet with the orientation in the
rotation code (0/90/180/270; upside-down adds a half turn) instead of
swapped width/height with rotation limited to 0/180
- standard scales are written by their code (1:1 … 100:1) with matching
numerator/denominator; other scales as a readable custom ratio in the
layout's own paper unit, converting from the drawing's scale-family unit
(a metre drawing plotting "1:100" stores 10 mm = 1 unit, an inch layout
stores 1 in = 2540 units); reading converts back and keeps a ratio the
scale list has no name for instead of snapping to 1:1
- the layout's paper unit and every flag the dialog does not edit survive a
round trip untouched; layout limits follow the paper-space unit
- new drawings, new layouts, CLEAR and the automation "new" op share one
default page setup (canonical A4 name, rotation 90, none_device, 1:1
layout plot) through Scene::reset_to_new_drawing
Scene gains scale_family_unit_mm, scale_ratio and a scale-name ratio parser
(ratios and architectural names). Round-trip tests cover orientation,
standard/custom/fit scales, unit conversion, named-setup parity, preserved
flags and the default layout.

The Snap and Grid tab showed static grid values with dead checkboxes, and every grid line stroked identically.
Grid X/Y spacing and Major-line-every are now editable inputs (validated 2-100 for majors, dirty-tracked, applied with an error message on bad input); Adaptive-grid and Display-beyond-Limits checkboxes are wired to live state. Every Nth line partitions into major_segments and strokes subtly brighter (1.5x alpha, 0.75px) for the reference hierarchy. GRIDMAJOR state persists to UserSettings. Covers partition, invalidation, and parse tests.
The viewport grid ignored the configured spacing and forced square grids: compute_grid_step hardcoded a 1.0 base, a single shared step drove both line families (including the tangent derivative used for gap measurement), and the display always clipped to LIMITS despite the beyond-Limits option.
Grid spacing now scales per-axis from GRIDUNIT via compute_grid_steps (adaptive 5x growth, fixed passthrough), GridParams carries step_x/step_y, snap tolerances follow the visible steps, and the LIMITS clip is skipped when beyond-Limits is set. Also fixes a per-axis overflow fallback that returned the X base for Y. Spacing state (X/Y, adaptive, beyond-Limits) is stored on the app and persisted to UserSettings at defaults; dialog wiring follows separately.
The viewport context menu is now built from a pure model
(ui::popup::context_menu) rendered by the overlay: while a command runs it
offers Enter / Cancel / every keyword of the command's options() with the
keyword shown as a hint, a Recent Input submenu and M2P; when idle it offers
Repeat, Recent Input, Clipboard, Undo/Redo with history labels, the edit
block (Erase/Move/Copy/Scale/Rotate/Mirror/Draw Order), Isolate, Pan/Zoom,
selection tools, Properties and Options. The default row is anchored under
the pointer and the menu is keyboard-navigable (arrows, Enter, mnemonic
letters; any other key closes it and types into the command line).
Right-click behaviour is a user preference (Options → User Preferences,
SHORTCUTMENU / SHORTCUTMENUDURATION): shortcut menu (commercial solutions default),
time-sensitive, or the previous Enter-first cycle.
LINE gains options() (Close/Undo/eXit).

Properties… next to the printer used to open the CUPS web interface in a
browser. It now edits the driver options of the *selected* printer the
way LibreOffice's Properties… does, without leaving the plot dialog:
- CUPS platforms (Linux, any desktop; macOS): an in-line editor lists the
printer's PPD options as `lpoptions -l` reports them — media type,
colour mode, quality, duplex, trays, scaling — with readable choice
labels, Reset / Cancel / Apply. Apply keeps only the choices that differ
from the driver defaults, per printer, in the plot config, and every job
for that printer passes them as `lp -o key=value`. Where CUPS cannot
answer, the desktop's printer settings panel opens instead of a browser.
- Windows: the driver's document-properties sheet (`DocumentPropertiesW`
with prompt, owned by the main window) and, on OK, the result stored as
the user's printing preferences for that printer (`SetPrinter` level 9),
which the job honours. `printui /e` (printing preferences) replaces the
device-properties sheet as the fallback.
The desktop print portal was tried first and dropped: GTK 4's print
dialog loses the preselected printer when the default queue is listed
before it, so the dialog always opened on the wrong printer.
Dialog layout: the modal grows to 940×620; Printer / plotter and Paper
size share a line with their pickers (long queue and media names now fit);
Copies + Properties… and Custom… sit beneath; the custom-sheet editor
labels each margin (Left / Right, Top / Bottom) and shows the unit.
Also recognises `none_device`, AutoCAD's stored spelling for "no plotter",
and writes it back unchanged.
Tests: `lpoptions` parsing and keyword humanising, the editor flow (load,
stale answer ignored, set, apply, remember, reset, error, cancel), device
name round-trips including `none_device`.

AutoCAD lets a plotter configuration carry user-defined sheets; a drawing
then names them like any other media (`Roll_24_(609.60_x_1500.00_MM)`).
The plot dialog now defines such sheets inline, under the Size row:
name, width/height, unit, and the printable margins in that unit. Added
sheets are selected at once, offered for every device after the device's
own list, remembered in the plot config across sessions, and written to
the layout with their own margins (a printer that reports the same size
still wins with its hardware margins). A selected user-defined sheet can
be removed; the sheet itself stays selectable in the drawing that uses it.
`CustomPaper` / `Margins` live in the paper catalogue with serde support;
`PlotDevice::margins_mm` consults the user's definitions. The Plot
dialog's form helpers (button and field styles, dividers, `label :
control` rows) move to `ui::style::form` so the next dialogs share them
instead of copying.
Tests: draft validation and seeding, catalogue naming of user sheets,
device margins with user definitions, and dialog round-trips (add,
select, persist, write, replace, remove, refuse an invalid size).

Replace the provisional PDF margins with the values AutoCAD's Plotter
Configuration Editor lists for `DWG To PDF.pc3`. They depend on the sheet
family and variant, not the size: ISO sheets 5/17/6/18 mm (left, bottom,
right, top), ISO expand 5/10/6/11 mm, ISO full bleed 0/1/0/1 mm; ANSI and
ARCH sheets 0.23/0.70 in, expand 0.23/0.42 in, full bleed 0.03 in all
round. Inch sets are stored in millimetres like the sheet itself.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A page setup names its plotter, and AutoCAD looks that name up in its own
configurations: `DWG To PDF.pc3` for PDF output, the spooler name for a
system printer, `None` when nothing is assigned. Drawings saved here used
to carry the dialog's label ("Save to PDF file…"), so AutoCAD reported a
missing device on every layout plotted to PDF from Open CAD Studio.
- New `io::plot_device`: `PlotDevice { None, Pdf, Printer }` with AutoCAD's
spellings, a reader for stored names that keeps any plotter
configuration AutoCAD wrote (an HP `.pc3`, `DWF6 ePlot.pc3` — plotted to
PDF here but preserved for AutoCAD) and upgrades the legacy label.
- Printable areas: the PDF driver's margins per sheet variant (full bleed
edge to edge; standard / expand insets provisional until read off
AutoCAD's plotter configuration), and for CUPS printers the media and
margins the queue reports over IPP (`ipptool` `media-col-database`),
parsed once per printer and cached. Windows enumeration follows with
native GDI printing.
- Page setups now store the device in AutoCAD's spelling and the margins
of the chosen device/sheet, keeping the drawing's own values while
neither changed (AutoCAD's `PAPERUPDATE` behaviour). The paper-space
printable-area rectangle follows.
- Plot dialog: the default entry names the printer it resolves to; a
printer that answered lists its own sheets with a note; the media query
runs in the background and answers for a since-deselected printer are
dropped.
Tests: device names, stored-name resolution, PDF margin table, IPP media
parsing (sizes, margins, borderless folding, default sheet), PWG names,
plus dialog ↔ layout round-trips for PDF, legacy label, preserved plotter
configuration, sheet change → margins, and printer selection.

AutoCAD stores a layout's sheet as the plotter driver's canonical media
name (`ISO_A4_(210.00_x_297.00_MM)`, `ANSI_full_bleed_B_(11.00_x_17.00_Inches)`),
so a drawing saved here has to carry the same spelling for AutoCAD to find
the sheet in its DWG To PDF list, and a name that arrives from AutoCAD must
resolve to its dimensions and go back out untouched.
- New `io::paper_catalog` replaces the eight-entry `paper_sizes`: ISO A/B,
ANSI, ARCH (incl. E1) and JIS series with full-bleed / expand variants,
Letter / Legal / Tabloid, millimetre and inch units, a parser that
reconstructs any well-formed AutoCAD name (custom or driver-specific)
from its embedded dimensions, driver / legacy-config aliases (`A4`,
`Letter`, `Ledger`), and dimension matching that prefers the plain sheet.
- The Plot dialog stores the canonical name and shows the sheet as
`ISO A4 (210 × 297 mm)`; a sheet that only exists in the drawing is
listed first so it stays selectable.
- A sheet the user did not change keeps the drawing's own media name
(`paper_name_for_settings`), so a Windows printer's `A4` is not rewritten
to `ISO_A4_(…)` just by passing through the dialog.
- Drops the unused `PlotFormat` / `PlotOrientation` messages,
`paper_label_from_dims`, and three duplicated `match "A4" | …` tables.
Tests: catalogue spelling, parser round-trip, aliases, dimension matching,
display formatting, plus dialog ↔ layout round-trips for driver-named,
catalogue and unknown sheets.

Drafting Settings dialog gets text inputs for Snap X/Y spacing plus a working Equal X and Y checkbox (mirrored inputs, Y follows X on apply). Snapper gains fixed snap_spacing_x/y (persisted in UserSettings, default 10) decoupled from the adaptive visible-grid step. Grid snap no longer aperture-gated: with Snap On it rounds every point to the grid, object snaps still override by tier. Adds parse/lock regression tests.
