The same shape was being read out of an entity's fields in three places
and the three had drifted. An arc's tessellation cut it at 20 segments
per radian, TRIM's sampling at 16, and its snap points came from a
fourth expression again; a spline was sampled at a fixed 96 points
however long it was; TRIM read an arc's centre as world coordinates
when the entity stores it in its OCS, so an arc carrying the (0, 0, −1)
normal a MIRROR leaves behind acted as a boundary on the wrong side of
the drawing.
entity_curve returns a PlanarCurve: the shape, plus the plane its
coordinates are read in. The plane comes from the entity's OCS — its
extrusion normal through the DXF arbitrary-axis algorithm — not from the
UCS. A UCS is the working plane a user drew in and an entity does not
remember it: draw a circle in a UCS turned 30° about Z and the stored
normal is still +Z, which is why the header keeps the UCS separately.
The algorithm itself stays in transform.rs, where the format is
understood and where #142's degenerate case was fixed once.
Entities that store world coordinates and may not be planar at all —
LINE, SPLINE — are checked rather than assumed. A spline whose points
wander in space returns None instead of being flattened onto XY, which
would move it.
entity_curve_xy folds the plane away for the editing commands, which
work in plan view and need every boundary in one frame before two of
them can be intersected.

Re-evaluate AcDbField-driven MTEXT — date/login/document-property fields, table
formulas and object properties — against the current system instead of showing
the frozen last-save cache. The evaluation engine lives in `acadrust::fields`;
OCS supplies only the environment (system clock, OS login, env vars) through a
FieldContext implementation, and hooks the resolved text into MTEXT rendering,
falling back to the cached value for anything it can't evaluate.

Lights, camera views and the geographic-location marker had no on-screen
representation. Add display glyphs for all three:
- Lights render through a new EntityType::Light: a cone/flashlight for spot
lights, a wire sphere for point lights, a sun for distant lights, sized in
screen space (fixed-world fallback).
- Camera views (perspective VIEW records) and the GEODATA "daisy" marker are
synthesized into the model-space resident wire set from the document, since
they are not entities.

A legacy leader's Lines & Arrows / Text / Fit rows are now editable
per-object overrides of its dimension style, stored in the standard
ACAD_DSTYLE XDATA record (new src/entities/dim_override.rs codec). Arrow
block, arrow size, dim-line lineweight, text offset, vertical text
position and overall scale each prefer an override over the style; the
renderer honours arrow size / block / overall scale and the dim-line
lineweight, so an edited leader redraws at its new arrow and weight.
XDATA edits go through a new dispatch::set_entity_xdata, which registers
the application in the APPID table (the DWG writer drops records for an
unregistered app) and drops that app's stale verbatim EED block (which
otherwise wins over the structured record on a DWG save), so edits and
clears round-trip. The hyperlink editor moves onto this path too.
Dim-line colour stays read-only: it would live in the leader's
override_color, which the file layer doesn't serialise, so making it
editable would silently lose the pick on save. Picking "Closed filled"
writes an explicit null-handle arrow override rather than clearing, so
it sticks even when the style's arrow differs; an unparseable numeric
entry is ignored instead of wiping the stored override.
Note: the DXF entity writer only emits XDATA for hatches, so these
overrides (and hyperlinks) currently persist on DWG save but not DXF —
an acadrust-side gap to close separately.

A helix loaded from a DWG (AcDbHelix) previously fell through to the
fallback: it did not render, had no grips, could not be moved, and showed
only a Type row. Add src/entities/helix.rs which drives all of these
through the embedded spline (render/grips/transform) and exposes the
generating parameters — base point, turns, turn height, height, base/top
radius, turn slope, twist, constrain — as the Geometry group per the
properties spec. Wire Helix into the to_truck / grips / apply_grip /
geometry_properties / apply_geom_prop / apply_transform dispatch lists.

Text elements previously rendered as hollow wireframe outlines and sometimes
fell back to the wrong system font due to case-sensitive exact matching. Also,
the viewport background grid drew on top of solid entities.
Case-insensitive and partial-name fallback matching (e.g., mapping "arialn"
to "Arial Narrow") is now added to `sysfont::canonical_family_name`, ensuring
text resolves to the correct installed system font.
TrueType font contours are now triangulated into solid fills (`fill_tris`)
using `lyon_tessellation` in `ttf_glyph.rs`. To prevent the GPU from misclassifying
this 2D text as a 3D mesh (which broke flat shading), text tessellation splits
the output into separate outline and fill `WireModel`s.
The background grid is extracted from `SelectionCanvas` into `GridCanvas` and
moved beneath the 3D viewport to ensure proper layering. Finally, `DepthBiasState`
is enabled on all face/fill pipelines to apply a polygon offset, perfectly
resolving Z-fighting between coplanar wireframe lines and solid faces.
Two near-identical match-on-EntityType tables lived far apart:
scene/properties.rs::entity_type_name returned mixed-case UI labels;
app/commands.rs::entity_type_name returned uppercase DXF record names.
Both enumerated ~30 variants; adding a new entity meant remembering to
touch two files in two crates' worth of source layout.
Move both into a single entities/names.rs as `ui_name()` and
`dxf_name()`. Adjacent so a new variant gets both labels added at once;
function names make the intended audience explicit at the callsite.
scene/properties.rs and app/commands.rs each lose their local match
plus one re-export, gaining a `crate::entities::names::*` call.

Property-panel coordinate display and block-insert scaling were both
hard-coded, ignoring the document's stored unit configuration.
- LUNITS / LUPREC: edit_prop() now formats values through a thread-local
UnitContext seeded by refresh_properties(). Decimal / Scientific /
Engineering / Architectural / Fractional all render correctly without
threading the document handle through every entity properties builder.
- AUNITS / AUPREC: format_angle() helper available (decimal degrees, DMS,
grad, rad). Callers that already format angular values via radians can
switch over without touching the helper signatures.
- INSUNITS + MEASUREMENT: xref's source INSUNITS is carried onto the
host BlockRecord.units during merge. commit_entity() then scales new
INSERTs so 1 source-unit maps to the host's INSUNITS length. When
either side is unitless (0) MEASUREMENT acts as the fallback
(0=Imperial / inches, 1=Metric / mm), matching AutoCAD's rule.

OLE2Frame: full TruckConvertible/Grippable/PropertyEditable/Transformable
impls in src/entities/ole2frame.rs — grips on corners + center, properties
panel, translate/scale transforms.
Shape: rotation (DXF code 50) now converted degrees→radians on load in
fix_dxf_dimension_rotations(), matching Dimension and Attribute behaviour.
All ❌ gaps resolved. Remaining: Viewport GPU scissor, LWPolyline plinegen.

Complex linetypes now render embedded text elements (e.g. GAS_LINE's
"GAS" labels): the LtSegment::Text variant is parsed from LIN files,
scaled along with shape/dash segments, and tessellated via
cxf::tessellate_text_ex aligned to the linetype direction.
Full ellipses gain four Quadrant snap hints at ±major/±minor axis
endpoints in addition to the existing Center snap, matching AutoCAD
snap behaviour.

- src/entities/shape.rs: diamond marker at insertion point (SHX glyphs
cannot be rendered without the binary .shx file, so a placeholder is used)
- Grips: single insertion-point grip
- Properties: Name, Style (read-only), Insert X/Y/Z, Size, Rotation
- Transformable: translate, mirror, scale, rotate
- Registered in entities/mod.rs, entities/traits.rs, app/commands.rs

TruckConvertible renders the 4 perimeter edges as wireframe outline.
The scene injects a solid-fill HatchModel for the filled quad using the
existing hatch GPU pipeline (DXF Z-order: p0→p1→p3→p2).
Grippable provides 4 square corner grips; grip moves rebuild the fill model.
PropertyEditable exposes all 4 corners and thickness. Transformable handles
move/rotate/scale/mirror via the standard entity transform path.

- mline.rs: MLine renders center spine + two parallel offset lines at
±scale/2 using the vertex miter directions; vertex grips; scale,
closed and style-name properties
- tolerance.rs: Tolerance renders the GDT text string via font
tessellation at insertion_point with rotation from direction vector;
insertion grip and position properties
- properties.rs: Dimension entity's style_name EditText is upgraded to
a Choice dropdown when document.dim_styles is non-empty, enabling
point-and-click DimStyle assignment without a separate panel
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- raster_image.rs: RasterImage renders as border rectangle + X diagonals
(pixel placeholder); Wipeout renders border or polygon clip boundary;
both support insertion_point grip, brightness/contrast/fade properties,
clipping toggle, and mirror transform (u/v vectors reflected)
- attribute.rs: AttributeDefinition renders default_value (or [TAG] if
empty) as font-tessellated text; AttributeEntity renders the live value;
both support insertion grip, position/height/rotation properties,
and transform operations
- mod.rs + traits.rs: wire up all four new entity types through the full
dispatch chain (to_truck, grips, geometry_properties, apply_geom_prop,
apply_grip, apply_transform)
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- polyline.rs: TruckConvertible/Grippable/PropertyEditable/Transformable
for all three polyline types; Polyline2D handles bulge arcs via the
same truck Wire path as LwPolyline; Polyline and Polyline3D use
TruckObject::Lines for straight-segment rendering
- ray.rs: Ray renders as base→+1e6; XLine renders as ±1e6; both have
base-point and direction grips; mirror correctly reflects direction
vector; base X/Y/Z and Dir X/Y/Z exposed in properties panel
- traits.rs: dispatch all five new entity types through
to_truck_entity, grips, geometry_properties, apply_geom_prop,
apply_grip, apply_transform
