Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 e4d04ef132 Cargo: codec e023bc3 (acadrust sync), kernel abca4e8, graph c63556f
The codec now holds wide EntityType variants boxed (MText, Helix,
Dimension, Hatch, Viewport, MultiLeader, Surface, Table, Ole2Frame,
Light, Extended). Constructors box their entity; nested patterns reach
a dimension through entities::dimension::as_dimension(_mut). Also
follows BlockAction::action_ids, LineTypeComplexData::source_flags and
the decimal tab stop with an explicit character.

Sebastian 60eb7b086e feat(plugin-api): entity-class display declarations on the manifest (API v10)
Plugins can now declare the entity classes they identify via XDATA, and the
host resolves them to display-only type labels while the declaring plugin is
loaded.

- Append `BuiltinPlugin::entity_classes()` (a guarded trailing vtable slot,
the same additive pattern as `on_load` in v5) returning a &'static
  `EntityClasses { app_id, class_prefix, labels }`. The static
`PluginManifest` struct is deliberately untouched: older cdylibs share it
by pointer and its layout is frozen ABI since v1, so adding a field would
  read past their allocation.
- `OwnedEntityClasses` travels on the registered manifest as
  `OwnedPluginManifest.entity_classes` with `#[serde(default)]`, so manifests
serialized before the field keep decoding (older runners tolerate it
  both ways).
- The runner folds the declaration into the GetManifest registration only
when the loaded cdylib's exported `ocs_plugin_api_version` symbol reports
  >= 10 — an older binary's vtable predates the slot, so it is never called;
its entities simply keep their native type names.
- `PluginManager::entity_class_declarations` exposes the live set, filtered
to alive, non-disabled plugins in load order. The registered manifests are
the only source and nothing is cached: not installed, disabled,
cap-excluded (`OCS_PLUGIN_MAX_API_VERSION`), failed at load, removed, or a
  dead process all contribute nothing.
- Embedded version info `api_version` follows the bump to 10;
  `API_VERSION_MIN_SUPPORTED` stays 3.

Tests: runner fold (v10 folds, pre-v10 skipped, `entity_classes()` panic is
contained and reported), manager filtering (disabled / dead / undeclaring
skipped; declarations disappear once the process dies — verified with a real
killed child), bincode registration round-trip, and older-manifest serde
default.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 ee2898095e fix(plugins): Python plugins see the host document again
Plugins read the host's document through a shared reference across the
dynamic-library boundary, and the entity index hashed with foldhash's
per-process seed, so every handle lookup from the plugin missed. The
codec now uses a fixed hasher (opencadcodec f385f75; kernel 9841749,
graph e9c23ad).

The Python IPC suite also caught up with intended changes: ATTDEF
renders its tag, DXF now keeps the lock-position flag, and the modify
audit turns associative arrays off since it checks loose copies.
The rate-limiter test waits for the host's check instead of a fixed
sleep that raced on macOS, and ENV_LOCK no longer cascades a poisoned
lock into every later test.

Sebastian 2cdc1df021 feat(app): dispatch HostNotifications to native plugins (API v9)
Close the no-load-callback gap: on_notification was a dead dispatch sink —
a plugin had no way to learn that the active document changed, the selection
changed, or that a document opened, so runtime designations could not be
re-seeded after a load.

Dispatch the existing plain variants at the fingerprint-guarded boundaries
the v4 bridge already uses: DocumentChanged (the active tab's settled
geometry epoch) and SelectionChanged (the selection set) leave through
BuiltinPlugin::on_notification at the post-message boundary — after the
mutation settles and pending history scopes closed, never mid-undo or
mid-pick — and at the automation post-op boundary. Plugin-initiated writes
publish immediately after settling, like the drawing-changed event; the
boundary fingerprint guard deduplicates.

Add the additive HostNotification::DocumentOpened { tab_id } variant
(discriminant 10, the counterpart of DocumentTabClosed): fired exactly once
per whole-document install — file open, template new, system open — keyed on
a new per-tab document generation, so an edit can never repeat it and a
reload fires it once. The API version stays v9 (the bump is unreleased).

Write semantics for handlers, tested and documented: a handler may call
HostApi write methods through the same session (set_reference_only at
minimum); its write bumps the epoch, the next boundary notifies once more,
and because re-marking already-designated geometry is a documented no-op —
no epoch bump, no undo step, no publish — the loop terminates. History
(undo/redo) replay itself emits nothing; the boundary is the only channel.
No Python mapping, like the rest of this increment.

Sebastian 50db12b169 refactor(scene): reference-only designation becomes a scene-scoped set (API v9)
Per the upstream review of the XDATA-based storage: the host no longer writes
its own state into the saved file. The marker record under the host-owned OCS
APPID, the on-first-use APPID registration and the verbatim-EED rewrite
handling are removed; the single source of truth is a scene-scoped in-memory
set of entity handles (Scene::reference_only) that dies with the drawing tab,
so a reopened file starts undesignated and the owning plugin re-marks on the
document-opened notification.

All behaviour sites are unchanged, driven by the set: the wire stamp moves
from an XDATA read to a set lookup threaded through the tessellation
pipelines (tessellate_entity and the dimension text path take the handle set
as a plain parameter), and the pick filters, selection retains and
update/erase refusals read Scene::is_reference_only.

Undo keeps the entity-write contract: set mutations are recorded as explicit
first-touch before/after values on each history delta (the parametric-
constraints channel pattern). A designation inside a plugin push_undo scope
joins it, a scope-less change is one step of its own, an idempotent re-mark
records nothing, erasing a designated entity drops the set entry with the
entity, and undo/redo restores entity and designation together.

The round-trip test is inverted: reference_only_designation_is_not_written_
to_dwg_or_dxf now asserts the marker appears in neither format's bytes, that
no OCS APPID or marker record survives a reload, and that the designation
stays live in memory.

Sebastian 1f552038a8 feat(plugin): reference-only entity designation on the HostApi (API v9)
The HostApi gains set_reference_only(handle, reference_only): a plugin can
designate display geometry it owns and refreshes. The entity renders like any
other, but the built-in edit paths treat it like an entity on a locked layer,
while the owning plugin keeps full write access (update, erase, XDATA).

- Appended at the trait tail with a refusing default so plugins keep compiling
against older hosts; the loader gate range is untouched.
- IPC: SetReferenceOnly / SetReferenceOnlyResult round-trip through the
shared dispatch, the V3 client and the V4 client, with the shared document
  cache invalidated on success.
- build.rs version_info and manifest API_VERSION bumped to 9 in lockstep.
- Evidence: reference_only_request_and_response_roundtrip (bincode round-trip
of the request and both response payloads).

Sebastian 297a4d3074 fix(plugin): join plugin-opened undo scopes in XRecord writes
The internal per-call push_undo fractured plugin-composed operations:
history has no nested scopes, so each push finished the plugin's
still-pending scope and opened its own — an operation of several
writes became several undo steps and the plugin's label was lost
(measured: 3 creates + update + delete in one scope = 5 steps).

Follow the entity-write contract instead: a mutation inside a
plugin-opened push_undo scope joins it, so the whole operation is a
single undo step under the plugin's label; a scope-less mutation opens
and finishes its own scope, keeping one undo step per call; refusals
record no undo step in either regime. Document the contract on the
trait methods and the host docs; the composition experiment becomes
the permanent xrecord_writes_join_a_plugin_initiated_undo_scope test.

Sebastian ca2f0c9857 feat(plugin): name-addressed XRecord CRUD on the HostApi (API v8)
Add create/read/update/delete/list for XRecord objects under
named-object-dictionary paths to the plugin HostApi, with five additive
PluginRequest/PluginResponse variants, dispatch through the shared
handler, in-process HostSession methods and both out-of-process proxies.

- dictionary paths walk from the NOD root; create seeds missing
dictionaries (ensure_image_dictionary bootstrap) and refuses existing
names; update refuses missing ones; refusals precede the undo step
- entry group codes validated (1..=369, never 5/105); payload content is
  the plugin's own
- each mutating call is one undo step: the pending history snapshot
restores the objects map byte-exactly, auto-created dictionaries
  included (tested)
- typed entries survive DWG and DXF write/reload round-trips (tested);
update drops verbatim raw bytes so saves emit the new content
- bump API_VERSION 7 -> 8 with the build.rs version_info in lockstep,
  mirroring the v7 addition; MIN_SUPPORTED stays 3

DXF MATERIAL/ACSH matrix, restorable SAT/SAB + history roots) and issues
#55 #64-#69 fixed. EntityType now boxes Surface, Extended, Table,
MultiLeader and Helix (2344 B -> 848 B per entity): construction sites
wrap in Box, the entity traits forward through Box, and the python
plugin generator converts with into(). Kernel: PR #70 (cuboid ring
winding).

Karim Jerbi b1f4047f9c fix(plugins): degrade ensure_plugin_state instead of panicking
Bug:
The typed ensure_plugin_state helper and the object-safe trait method
it wraps turned two recoverable conditions into process deaths. On the
in-process host, the helper downcast the stored state with
.expect("plugin state type mismatch for plugin_id"), so registering
state under one plugin_id as one type and later asking for another
(e.g. a reloaded plugin version changes the type while the per-tab
state map survives) panicked the host. On out-of-process hosts
(ipc/client.rs, ipc/v4/client.rs) and on NullHost, the trait method
itself was implemented as a bare panic!("ensure_plugin_state is not
supported for out-of-process plugins..."), so any out-of-process
plugin calling the documented helper crashed its own runner process -
even though the sibling plugin_state_any and plugin_state_any_mut
methods on those same implementations already degrade to None
gracefully. The helper also used .expect("init called once") on the
initialiser closure.

Reproduce:
1. Out-of-process: a plugin whose runner calls ensure_plugin_state
   (&mut host, "my.id", ...).
2. Type mismatch: in an in-process plugin, ensure state under one id
as u32, then ensure a different type under the same id.
3. Before: step 1 kills the plugin runner at the trait panic; step 2
kills the host at the downcast expect. After: both get None, keep
running, and existing state is untouched.

Fix:
Give the trait method a failure channel: ensure_plugin_state_any now
returns Option<&mut (dyn Any + Send + Sync)>, mirroring the sibling
plugin_state_any_mut on the same implementations, and the typed helper
returns Option<&mut T> (any?.downcast_mut). The panicking
implementations (ipc v3, ipc v4, NullHost, and the three never-called
test dummies) return None; the in-process app host wraps its real
storage in Some with unchanged insert-or-return semantics. The init
closure is now guarded by take() with a unit-Any fallback, so even an
implementation invoking it twice fails the typed downcast instead of
panicking. Object safety, argument types and vtable slot are
unchanged; external plugin sources get a compile error at the helper
and adopt Option handling on rebuild. Regression tests use catch_unwind
so they compile against both signatures: one per panic site (out-of-
process, NullHost, type mismatch), each additionally asserting the
None result and that pre-existing state survived.

Karim Jerbi 1952b4b0cb fix(plugin_api): gate hatch validation test on host feature
Commit 98b56ef6 ('Complete Hatch host model coverage') added the hatch_geometry_and_boundaries_are_validated test without the #[cfg(feature = host)] guard, and commit f537aff7 imported codec directly instead of through crate::host::codec. This broke cargo test --workspace with 20 compilation errors because codec and the canvas validation helpers are only compiled when the host feature is active.

Fixes regression from commit 98b56ef673.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 71b300cc44 feat(plugins): drop plugin API v2
A V2 plugin passed the version gate and then failed silently while

version message. The V2 compatibility fixture crate goes too.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 f537aff75c feat: node graph overlay; move to opencadcodec/opencadkernel/opencadgraph
The codec and kernel repositories and crates are renamed opencadcodec and
opencadkernel. Inside OCS they are depended on under short keys, so code
reads `codec::`, `kernel::` and the new `graph::` (opencadgraph, the node
graph engine). File-format and protocol spellings stay as they were: the
ACIS product id `acadrust`, the ACADRUST_* switches and the plugin
version keys `acadrust_version` / `acadrust_source`.

A button left of MCP on the command line opens a translucent node graph
over the viewport, with a palette of object, input, math, logic, list,
text and geometry nodes added by click or drag. An object node owns
drawing entities and its rows are the Properties panel's own rows for
them: the single-object page is extracted from refresh_properties as
entity_property_sections, values use the control protocol's
property_json, and writes go through set_property_value with a property
target override, so the panel, MCP and the graph share one read/write
path. A list reaching an object row makes one entity per element. Each
graph action is one undo step; the canvas pans and zooms.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 73b560de99 fix(plugin): append the multi-entity command steps after the existing ones
#1469 inserted `CommitMany` and `CommitManyAndEnd` between `Commit`,
`CommitAndEnd` and `Done`. `CommandStep` crosses the plugin IPC, which
encodes a variant by its position, so a plugin built against the previous
API that answered `Done` would have been read as `CommitAndEnd` — or
rejected as undecodable — by the new host. The two variants now sit after
`Cancel`, as the other additions to the v7 wire types do.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5 41ecc0c458 Merge pull request #1423 from felixriestra:pr/python-host-model
The bundled `opencad.python` plugin drives OCS through plugin API v7: all
43 canvas entity kinds, the drawing tables, and OCS's own commands run
step by step. RustPython stays in the plugin process — the plugin crate is
outside the workspace with its own lock file, so the application's own
dependencies are unchanged.

Reconciled with the plugin command work that landed as #1425, which the
branch was written before:

- Both added `impl Drop for PluginProcessInteractiveAdapter`, which git
merges silently into two impls that do not compile. One body now
cancels the command and then drops it from the runner, in that order: a
plugin waiting on a step has to be released before the runner forgets
  the command.
- `execute_command` (#1425) and `run_command` (#1423) are both routes from
a script to the command line, and only the second was guarded. The
SCRIPTCOMMANDS switch and the denylist are shared now, so neither route
  is the unguarded one.
- `run_command` dispatched with plugin dispatch still enabled, so a script
naming a plugin command re-entered the plugin that was blocked waiting
for it. It sets the suppression flag for the length of the dispatch, as
  `execute_command` does.

The denylist read the command as typed, while the dispatcher resolves
aliases: a user-defined `Q` for `QUIT` (ALIASEDIT writes those) walked
past it. It resolves the alias first.

Also: the active-command comparison ran on every message, a mouse move
included, allocating two strings for names that are already `&'static
str`; SCRIPTCOMMANDS' own messages go through the translation macros; and
`docs/.DS_Store` (now ignored) and an unrelated RTF note about constraint
commands are out of the tree.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 eb22de636b Decide Insert and Polyline: Insert creatable by block name, Polyline update-only
Insert can be created by naming an existing ordinary block; the host refuses
unknown blocks, model/paper space and containment cycles, and keeps legacy
inserts of missing blocks editable. The legacy Polyline is update-only with a
hint toward Polyline2D and Polyline3D because both writers convert it on
save. The generator gains update_only_message.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 bd43ed7e91 Audit the 17 pre-existing mapped kinds; add shared basic-geometry validation
Runs every first-generation kind through the real-runner lifecycle driver.
The audit found Ellipse unvalidated, zero-height Text/MText and non-finite
Arc angles and Point/Line thickness accepted, and no creation-time checks
for most kinds. validate_basic_entity now covers them and refuses only
problems an edit introduces. Twelve kinds pass every gate; Polyline,
Polyline2D, Polyline3D and Spline carry pinned persistence findings, and
Insert is update-only.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 12b0823e76 Map Light; record SectionSymbol as blocked
Light placement, intensity, colour, attenuation and shadow fields are
writable with host validation. staged_python_light_lifecycle_over_real_ipc
passes every gate except DXF cast_shadows, pinned by a canary.
SectionSymbol is recorded as blocked: it needs host-created style and view
representation objects and its raw point counts have no documented
derivation.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 21ce4b0e2b Map ViewBorder in the Python host model; record DXF kind blocker
Bounds, scale and rotation are writable with viewport and scale reference
rules. staged_python_view_border_lifecycle_over_real_ipc passes every gate
in DWG; a DXF DRAWINGVIEW reopens as an opaque entity, pinned by a canary.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 9075e53511 Map Viewport in the Python host model
Curated view fields are writable; the owner must be a paper-space block and
frozen layers must exist. staged_python_viewport_lifecycle_over_real_ipc
passes every gate except a paper-space canvas oracle, so the kind is
recorded as integration-tested.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 2e4d77dc09 Map Underlay in the Python host model; record DXF rotation blocker
Scripts place an underlay against an existing UnderlayDefinition; the host
checks that the definition exists and matches the underlay type.
staged_python_underlay_lifecycle_over_real_ipc passes every gate except DXF
persistence: acadrust's reader returns the degree-valued rotation
unconverted and repeated saves compound it. Pinned by canary expectations.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 96e3b54f08 Complete Wipeout host model coverage
Maps the placement, display and clip-boundary fields with rectangular and
polygonal clip validation. staged_python_wipeout_lifecycle_over_real_ipc
passes the full gate including DWG and DXF reopen with re-edit.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 7f65d6d373 Map RasterImage with host-created image definitions
Scripts name an image file; the host reads its pixel size, creates and links
the ImageDefinition and derives size and the default clip boundary.
staged_python_raster_image_lifecycle_over_real_ipc passes every gate in OCS
with a real PNG. ACAD_IMAGE_DICT and reactor linkage are not created, so the
kind is recorded as integration-tested.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 d4c2520907 Map Helix in the Python host model; record DXF handedness blocker
The host rebuilds the derived spline from the generating parameters on
scripted create/edit. staged_python_helix_lifecycle_over_real_ipc passes
every gate except DXF handedness, which acadrust's reader never applies;
the gap is pinned by a canary via per-format expectations in the shared
mesh lifecycle driver.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 b97d74efa4 Complete PolygonMesh, PolyfaceMesh and Mesh host model coverage
Maps all three mesh kinds with host validation of grid counts, face indices
and edge topology, and skips sub-record common data in the generator.
A shared run_mesh_lifecycle driver passes the full gate for each kind,
including DWG and DXF reopen with re-edit.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 0206c7c30b Complete Table host model coverage
Maps rows, columns, merged ranges, style and placement through the generic
generator (now with tuple and usize support), adds grid/merge/reference
validation, and keeps DXF cell merge dimensions in step with merged_ranges.
staged_python_table_lifecycle_over_real_ipc passes the full gate including
DWG and DXF reopen.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 b3f5388208 Complete MultiLeader host model coverage
Extends the adapter generator (Color, LineWeight, mixed unit/payload enums,
fixed float arrays, bitflags-2 newtypes, keep_types override) and maps
MultiLeader with a merge-style context patch, host validation and
reference checks. staged_python_multileader_lifecycle_over_real_ipc passes
the full gate including DWG and DXF reopen.

Felix RiestraandClaude Sonnet 5 22f9c20fe8 Support Color in the Python adapter generator; map Leader.override_color
Color converts as {'kind': ByLayer|None|ByBlock|Index|Rgb, 'value': ...}.
Leader.override_color is now writable; neither DWG nor DXF stores it, which
is recorded as a fourth persistence blocker with a canary assertion.
