The PDF Underlay and External Reference ribbon tabs are gone. While only
PDF underlays are selected their tools (Display in Monochrome, Create
Clipping Boundary, Remove Clipping, Show Underlay, Enable Snap, External
References, Edit Layers, Import As Objects) sit on the right-edge toolbar,
the switches drawn as on while on; while only xrefs are selected the xref
tools do. Contrast and fade stay in Properties. Toolbar tooltips are
translated.

The node library leaves the overlay and becomes a dock panel (PanelId::
NodeGraph), docked on the right the first time the graph opens and movable
like any other panel; closing it closes the graph. It follows the block
palette's layout: title bar, then a search box with New / Open / Save
beside it, then the categories, of which only Objects starts open. Entries
are clicked (placed at the canvas top-left) or dragged onto the canvas.
The title bar (title, auto-collapse pin, close, drag to re-dock), the
toolbar icon button and the panel frame were copied across Properties,
Block Palette, External References and Browser; they are now
dock::title_bar, dock::tool_button and dock::frame, used by all of them.
Block Palette's two tool buttons gain tooltips, and External References'
Auto / Close tooltips are now translated.

The codec and kernel repositories and crates are renamed opencadcodec and
opencadkernel. Inside OCS they are depended on under short keys, so code
reads `codec::`, `kernel::` and the new `graph::` (opencadgraph, the node
graph engine). File-format and protocol spellings stay as they were: the
ACIS product id `acadrust`, the ACADRUST_* switches and the plugin
version keys `acadrust_version` / `acadrust_source`.
A button left of MCP on the command line opens a translucent node graph
over the viewport, with a palette of object, input, math, logic, list,
text and geometry nodes added by click or drag. An object node owns
drawing entities and its rows are the Properties panel's own rows for
them: the single-object page is extracted from refresh_properties as
entity_property_sections, values use the control protocol's
property_json, and writes go through set_property_value with a property
target override, so the panel, MCP and the graph share one read/write
path. A list reaching an object row makes one entity per element. Each
graph action is one undo step; the canvas pans and zooms.

The operations docs/automation/API-SPEC.md (PR #1383) describes, brought
over from huaninstratech/OpenCADStudio so the specification no longer runs
ahead of the code:
- entity CRUD: entities_create, entities_delete, entities_transform,
entities_copy_to, and `where` filters on query
- blocks and export: block_define, block_delete, a normalised wblock
- publishing: layout_create, page_setup_set, plot (per_page included)
- metadata: sysvar, xdata_set / xdata_get, file_identity
- collections: group_create, selection_set_save / load
- control plane: batch, events, view_focus, close
- the REST transport: `--http <port>`, the /api/v1 routes and their
OpenAPI 3 description
- person-in-the-loop picks: user_select and getpoint, hosted by the GUI
over the same REST routes, with on-screen pending signals

Left out on purpose: 37de5a46 also removed the donation surface (the
Patreon fetch, the donation prompt, the Start-page supporters rail, the
DONATE command and its locale strings) and replaced the About dialog's call
to action; that is the fork's own product decision and stays out. The
fork's version bump and its unrelated IFC/BIM work are not part of this.
Adapted while porting: the REST server and the GUI bridge are desktop-only
and a template start is refused in the web build, so the wasm target still
compiles; the two plot tests read the PDF through the shared stream helper,
because exported streams are Flate-compressed; the benches set the new
crosshair field; comments and docs describe each operation in its own
terms rather than by another product's API names.

Adds ui_selection_overlay bench (benches/performance_benchmarks.rs + README metric 31): builds a representative selection overlay element (snap, crosshair, UCS tripod, 128 grips quick / 4096 capped full) and times widget-tree construction. Measured 0.4us typical, 2.4us at the cap (threshold 50us).
Adds ribbon/statusbar section marks to the chrome bucket in view_main (src/app/view/mod.rs) so live PERF=1 view-detail traces attribute those two costs separately. Gated on the existing perf switch; no-op otherwise.
Adds pub re-exports of CursorType/IsoPlane (src/app/mod.rs) for the bench fixture (same pattern as the existing grip re-exports).
Ranked result over all ui_* benches: ribbon view construction ~556us (largest; follow-up already tracked), everything else under 50us or synthetic-fixture shapes. No new follow-up filed. GPU and canvas-draw costs are unmeasurable in headless runs (view() never executes there).
Placements (entity lookups, intersections, String labels, projections)
recomputed per view() and per mouse-move hit-test, with overlay re-clones
and 2-3x offset recomputes. New constraints_epoch bumped on every set
mutation/visibility/undo/DWG-load (plus new set_constraint_enabled API);
single-slot Arc<[GlyphEntry]> memo on an 11-field key (hover/selection
excluded); overlay de-cloned/de-duped to the single geometry source;
hit paths reuse the cache.
Tests:
- cached_glyph_placements_hit_returns_same_arc: same-key Arc identity
- cached_glyph_placements_invalidated_by_metadata_edit: edit + selection change yield new Arc
- glyph_hit_test_entries_matches_precomputed_boxes: shared hit-test helper
Bench (cargo bench glyph, 60 constraints): 8.18us -> 0.05-0.15us (~55x).
A/B reference deleted.
A trackpad could only zoom: every scroll delta, wheel notch or not, went
into the same zoom step, and a pinch never arrived at all. iced's winit
layer converts only the window events it has an iced equivalent for, so
winit's `PinchGesture` was dropped before the app saw it.
Scroll deltas now split by what produced them: a wheel reports notches and
still zooms, a precise-scrolling device reports pixels and pans. The same
pixel split keeps working everywhere else — the browser build reports every
wheel notch as pixels, so there they keep zooming.
The pinch is read straight from AppKit with a local `NSEvent` monitor, since
the app cannot see the gesture through iced at all, and handed to the app
through a subscription shaped like the SpaceMouse bridge. It maps 1:1 onto
the camera: fingers 5% further apart leave the view 5% closer.
The pan and zoom bodies are now shared by the mouse and the gestures, so the
middle-button drag, the wheel, two fingers and a pinch all move the view
through one path — in model space, in a tiled pane and inside a floating
viewport alike.
An OTRACK crossing is the meeting of two tracking vectors, but
`OtrackHit` carried only the one a typed distance is measured along, so
the overlay had a single guide to draw. Snapping to the crossing of two
vectors worked and looked like an unexplained point on one line.
Carry the crossed ray out of `otrack_snap` as `OtrackHit::cross`, keep it
on the app beside `otrack_active`, and let the overlay take a list of
guides rather than one. `otrack_active` still drives typed-distance
entry on its own, so distance entry is unchanged.

(cherry picked from commit 2f6caacece)
A docked outline of the drawing: the three origin planes, the open
sketch, and every solid labelled with the operation that made it,
recovered through primitive_property_operation. Rows run ordinary
commands, so clicking a plane starts a sketch on it and clicking a
body selects it.
It is a table of contents, not a feature tree. The DWG history records
how each solid was built but nothing re-runs it, so an earlier feature
cannot be edited to rebuild the ones after it. Presenting the list as
editable history would promise exactly that, so the panel states what
it is instead.
Off by default and opened with BROWSER, leaving the existing dock
layout alone for anyone who does not want it.
The Snap and Grid tab showed static grid values with dead checkboxes, and every grid line stroked identically.
Grid X/Y spacing and Major-line-every are now editable inputs (validated 2-100 for majors, dirty-tracked, applied with an error message on bad input); Adaptive-grid and Display-beyond-Limits checkboxes are wired to live state. Every Nth line partitions into major_segments and strokes subtly brighter (1.5x alpha, 0.75px) for the reference hierarchy. GRIDMAJOR state persists to UserSettings. Covers partition, invalidation, and parse tests.
The viewport grid ignored the configured spacing and forced square grids: compute_grid_step hardcoded a 1.0 base, a single shared step drove both line families (including the tangent derivative used for gap measurement), and the display always clipped to LIMITS despite the beyond-Limits option.
Grid spacing now scales per-axis from GRIDUNIT via compute_grid_steps (adaptive 5x growth, fixed passthrough), GridParams carries step_x/step_y, snap tolerances follow the visible steps, and the LIMITS clip is skipped when beyond-Limits is set. Also fixes a per-axis overflow fallback that returned the X base for Y. Spacing state (X/Y, adaptive, beyond-Limits) is stored on the app and persisted to UserSettings at defaults; dialog wiring follows separately.
Rows are 22 px (as the grip popup), the edit menu drops Select All and
Zoom Extents (both stay on the idle menu, matching the commercial solutions' edit menu),
and cursor-anchored panels now reserve the overlaid prompt lines
(CLIPROMPTLINES) as well as the input row, so a long menu is never hidden
behind the command area — it scrolls inside the visible canvas instead.
The automation port gains `pointer_right_press` / `pointer_right_release`
actions so scripts and MCP clients can exercise the context menu.

The viewport context menu is now built from a pure model
(ui::popup::context_menu) rendered by the overlay: while a command runs it
offers Enter / Cancel / every keyword of the command's options() with the
keyword shown as a hint, a Recent Input submenu and M2P; when idle it offers
Repeat, Recent Input, Clipboard, Undo/Redo with history labels, the edit
block (Erase/Move/Copy/Scale/Rotate/Mirror/Draw Order), Isolate, Pan/Zoom,
selection tools, Properties and Options. The default row is anchored under
the pointer and the menu is keyboard-navigable (arrows, Enter, mnemonic
letters; any other key closes it and types into the command line).
Right-click behaviour is a user preference (Options → User Preferences,
SHORTCUTMENU / SHORTCUTMENUDURATION): shortcut menu (commercial solutions default),
time-sensitive, or the previous Enter-first cycle.
LINE gains options() (Close/Undo/eXit).

Right-click actions bound to the row under the cursor, split-button toolbar groups with shared borders and hover states, and a notice when an operation needs a selection first.
Constraint delete: a Properties-panel row delete button, viewport
click-to-select on a constraint glyph pill with Delete-key support, and a
right-click "Delete Constraint" menu item — all routed through one
undoable Scene::selected_constraint-aware path.
Fixes two named-parameter bugs found while testing that feature:
- DIMCONSTRAINT: a parameter named like a mode-switch keyword ("r", "d",
"a", "x", "y") could never be referenced, since the keyword check ran
before the parameter-name check.
- PARAMETERS modal Apply rebuilt Scene::named_parameters but never
refreshed the Properties panel, leaving renamed/deleted rows stale
until an unrelated refresh (e.g. a selection change) happened to occur.

A day of pan/zoom that had suddenly become unusable on a 1.2M-entity
drawing turned out to be no regression at all: an unattended NVIDIA
userspace update had been applied without a reboot, the Vulkan ICD could
no longer talk to the still-loaded kernel module, and wgpu silently fell
through to Mesa's llvmpipe. Nothing in the app said so. iced picks the
adapter and names it only under RUST_LOG, so the only evidence was 32
`llvmpipe-N` threads in /proc. The same silence covers WARP on Windows,
SwiftShader in browsers, and the case where wgpu finds no adapter at all
and iced quietly draws the chrome with tiny-skia while the shader widget
is dropped, leaving a blank viewport. This commit makes all of that
visible, on every platform, without new dependencies.
Detection (src/scene/pipeline/mod.rs)
-------------------------------------
`GpuStatus` is derived from two signals:
* `record_gpu_adapter`, run from `MultiPipeline::new` (once per device,
next to the existing uncaptured-error handler), reads
`Device::adapter_info()`, prints one `[gpu] adapter: <name> (<backend>,
<device type>, driver …)` line — stderr natively, `console.warn` on the
web, which has no stderr — and keeps a copy.
* `note_scene_draw`, run from `ViewportPane::draw`, counts how often the
viewport asked for a primitive. Every renderer makes that call; only
wgpu goes on to `prepare` and create a device. Three draws with no
device ever recorded therefore mean the primitive is being dropped.
The verdict is one of `Unknown`, `Hardware`, `Software(adapter)` or
`NoRenderer`. `Software` is `DeviceType::Cpu` — what Vulkan reports for
llvmpipe, DX12 for WARP and GL for a renderer string that gives it away —
plus a name match on the fallbacks browsers expose (SwiftShader, llvmpipe,
lavapipe, "Microsoft Basic Render"), because the WebGPU backend reports
every adapter as `Other` (gfx-rs/wgpu#8819). Metal has no software device,
so on macOS only `NoRenderer` can occur (a VM without a GPU); it is caught
by the draw count like everywhere else.
`gpu_status_if_changed` costs one atomic load per app message: a
generation counter moves only when a device is recorded or the draw count
crosses its threshold, so the app re-derives the verdict a handful of
times per session.
Notification (src/app/startup.rs, view/modal.rs, ui/statusbar)
-------------------------------------------------------------
`refresh_gpu_status` runs after every message. On a degraded verdict it
speaks through three channels, because many users never read the command
line:
* A popup, `ModalKind::GpuWarning`, queued once per verdict through the
startup-modal queue so it waits its turn behind the file open. It names
the adapter, states the consequence (slow navigation, unstable or
missing rendering) and gives the remedy that usually applies on the
running platform: a driver update not yet followed by a reboot on
Linux, a missing driver or a Remote Desktop / VM session on Windows, a
VM without a Metal device on macOS, hardware acceleration switched off
in the browser. "Don't show again for this device" stores
`GpuStatus::identity()` in `settings.gpu_warning_silenced`; keying it by
verdict means silencing "software rendering on llvmpipe" does not
silence a later, different failure.
* A status-bar pill in the theme's warning colours, `⚠ Software rendering`
or `⚠ No GPU renderer`. It is not a `StatusPill`, so it cannot be hidden,
and it stays for the session; clicking it reopens the popup, silenced or
not.
* A command-line entry through the new `CommandLine::push_warning`, which
is styled like an error but deliberately does not touch `last_error` /
`error_revision`: automation reads those to decide whether the command it
just ran failed, and a graphics warning is not a failed command.
`subscription()` requests frames only while the verdict is `Unknown` on a
document tab (the Start page draws no viewport), so the probe costs one
frame on a working GPU, three on none, then stops.
Verification
------------
* Live on the machine that had the incident, with the Vulkan loader
restricted to Mesa (`VK_DRIVER_FILES=…/lvp_icd.json WGPU_BACKEND=vulkan`):
popup → OK → pill → click reopens; "Don't show again" → restart → pill
only, no popup.
* `gpu_tests::the_adapter_is_reported_once_per_device` (ignored, needs an
adapter) asserts the classification on a real device; it was run on both
llvmpipe (`Cpu`) and an NVIDIA GT 1030 (`DiscreteGpu`).
* Unit tests cover the name heuristic, the verdict function, the identity
rule, the warning text with an adapter name that itself contains
parentheses and commas, the settings round trip and the command-line
semantics. New strings are in all 21 locales as the `gpu` Fluent group.
