bherbruck 07932d0f42 feat: preserve modeling intent across sketches, assemblies, and fabrication
Persist typed sketch dimensions and bounded ordered configuration rules in format 8. Use exact occurrence paths and source identity for editing, movement, appearance, and mass. Preserve sheet material regions through cutting, folding, and exact DXF export; retain nested cavities and material islands.

Validation: cargo xtask ci passed, including 368 engine tests, 178 UI tests, 68 UI scenarios, 136 kernel tests, and the 10-crate wasm check. Actual preview workflows and legacy format-7 origin-corner reopening were inspected.

95ae096265 Restore minimal view-cube turns and drag-to-orbit
Recover N3MI-DG's TOP/BOTTOM heading and drag-to-orbit contributions
from PR #101, adapted to the existing 14-target cube. Add Y-up/Z-up
regressions, navigation ownership and dialog blocking coverage.

N3MI-DGandClaude Opus 5.5 ff1453f868 View cube face labels are larger: one font size for all six, the widest (BOTTOM) spanning 90% of its face, instead of a fixed 9.5 px that left the names small on the cube. Tests: BOTTOM spans 90% of the face seen straight on, and every label stays within its face from any direction

bherbruck 63fd838f55 Fix hover highlight flicker during viewport navigation
Resolve hover before rendering and suppress it throughout navigation gestures and animated views. Closes #92.

bherbruck 6f16b31771 Fix viewport input leaking through dialogs
Use egui pointer ownership for viewport navigation and picking, view-cube
interaction, and sketch-dimension hover. Cover scrolling, model selection,
and cube interaction under floating dialogs, including after they close.
Shield constraint glyph and move-gizmo highlights from overlapping UI too.

Clear strict Clippy warnings and use the same saved path in the recent-file
scenario on Windows and Unix.

CypherNaugh_0x 81be4e74b8 browser.visibility hides and shows sketches, bodies, construction geometry and origin items (items: ids or names, or a whole folder; visible: bool), so agents can hide helper sketches over MCP. What is hidden moved from the egui UI state into the engine session (view state: not saved, not an undo step); the desktop eye toggles and menus use it, headless renders and fit leave hidden items out, and document.inspect, sketch.inspect and ui.inspect report visibility. ui.set still accepts hiddenBodies, hiddenOrigin, hiddenSketches and shownSketches. Tests: helper sketches hide and show in the engine (hostile input changes nothing) and through MCP only 2026-10-10 14:33:56 -04:00
CypherNaugh_0x b5fd55cce6 Section Analysis cut faces hide the inside of the body: the cap was drawn on the far walls' back faces at their own depth, so every edge between the cut and the far wall (hole and boss edges, corner seams) showed through it like a pane of glass. While a section is shown the solids mark in the stencil where the cap is the visible surface, then draw the cap again there at the depth where the view ray meets the section plane (orthographic and perspective), so holes stay open and the inside is hidden. The native app asks for an 8-bit stencil; without one (eframe's web painter has none) the cap draws as before. Not covered by an automated test (no GPU in the test suite); checked in the app with before/after screenshots 2026-10-10 13:51:00 -04:00
CypherNaugh_0x aa268f0f0e Faster tests: hostile_params_never_panic shares its commands across threads (154 s to 20 s), the design-file fuzz test tries its seeded cases on all cores (21 s to 7.5 s), the kernel's tangent-primitive boolean test runs its three seeds at once, and the headless scenario harness skips the software viewport render it threw away every frame (scenarios 63 s to 26 s). kill_mid_save waits for the saver to reach a varying round instead of sleeping a fixed time, so it holds on a busy machine 2026-10-10 13:24:08 -04:00
bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 c90070c497 Agent cursor speed: a slider from 1× to 5× with Instant at the far right. Instant no longer breaks: the command runs at once (as with the cursor off) and the pointer jumps to where it acted, with a click ripple. ui.agent_cursor speed takes 1–5 or "instant"; saved "slow" and "normal" read as 1×. Scenario covers 1×, 3× and Instant against the cursor-off result

David GrayandClaude Opus 5.5 d57e90a32a View cube labels are printed on their faces: each face's name is laid out flat and mapped through the cube's projection, so it turns and foreshortens with the face and fades out as the face turns edge-on (instead of floating upright at the face's centre and vanishing past 70 degrees). TOP and BOTTOM read upright in the plan views clicking them turns to. Tests: every label reads upright in its own view and stays within its face from every direction

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 7318b98b8d Preferences: one Fusion-style dialog from the gear at the top right and Ctrl+, (Cmd+,)
Pages: General (theme Dark/Light/System, UI scale, units of new designs, autosave, display
precision, the agent cursor), Navigation (Fusion, SolidWorks, Inventor, Alias and Tinkercad
mouse presets, reverse zoom, zoom to the cursor, orbit centre, view-change animation on/off and
speed), Keyboard Shortcuts (the old Shortcuts window as a page: search, rebind, conflicts),
Design (default modelling orientation Y up / Z up for #3, and the offer to stand up a Y-up STEP
or IGES file: a quarter turn about X as one undoable Move), Graphics, Sketch, Selection.
Changes apply at once; Cancel or Esc puts back what was there when the dialog opened, Apply
keeps them, OK closes, Restore Defaults resets the page. The theme, ground shadow and agent
cursor settings are now kept between runs. File and Help › Keyboard Shortcuts open the page;
the unused docked Preferences dialog is gone. Control: ui.prefs {open, button, stand_up, …}.
Scenario s45_preferences; tests for Cancel/Apply/defaults and standing a Y-up file up.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 a5729f1f97 Constraint glyphs: one per constrained entity, beside it, readable
Fixes #43

- Two-entity constraints (parallel, tangent, equal, ...) get a glyph on each entity.
- Glyphs sit beside their entity (offset along its screen normal), step along it when crowded,
with a faint leader when pushed away; 15 px boxes with the toolbar's constraint icons
(H/V stay letters), coloured from the theme's glyph tokens in both themes.
- Hovering a glyph lights both of its glyphs and its curves/points and names the constraint.
- Removes the old duplicate glyph drawer in viewport.rs (it drew a second, green set).
- Scenario expect key `glyphs` ({constraint id: count}, none overlapping) and the scenario
  constraint_glyphs_both_entities.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 d10312b7fd Command ids are SolveCraft's own: 173 ids that were another product's internal command ids become dotted, lower-case ids (<area>.<thing>[.<variant>]: solid.extrude, sketch.rectangle.two_point, sheet.flange, joint.drive, ...), in the registry, toolbar, dialogs, shortcuts, palette, control channel, MCP, examples, scenarios and docs
The old ids live only in crates/engine/src/legacy_ids.rs (the legacy migration table): find_command maps them, so old scripts, recipes and control calls keep working, and saved shortcuts, recent and pinned commands are migrated on load (designs store no command ids). Parity maps the observed catalog ids to ours through xtask/data/fusion-ids.tsv. The agent rule now reads: our own dotted id, never another product's. Cargo.toml's repository points at github.com/bherbruck/solvecraft.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 305c1c9a9b Dragging sketch geometry snaps like Fusion: a dragged point (or a line dragged by its body, by its ends) snaps onto other points, line midpoints and curves, and letting go there adds the coincident, midpoint or point-on-curve constraint in the drag's undo step; it lines up horizontally and vertically with other points (dashed guides, no constraint). Snap distances in screen pixels; Ctrl or Alt held turns snapping off, also while drawing. Ring and Pt/Mid/On label on the snap. Scenario s42 (coincident and DOF, exact H alignment without a constraint, Ctrl-drag, undo, line body drag); ui.drag hold_end; synthetic drags keep their modifiers

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 7a2eb059c4 Components are frames (user bug #4)
What a component holds moves with its occurrence, and picks in the world land in the
component's frame:
- Sketches and construction planes show where their component is placed (free move, joint
drive, Capture Position); sketch.inspect reports sketch points in the world.
- frames.rs maps a command's world picks into the frame of the body they lie on (through the
inverse of its placement: a moved component or a pasted instance), points that make new
geometry into the active component's frame, and directions with them; instance body names
  ("Body1 (Pin:2)") become the component's body. Fillet/chamfer edges, shell/offset/draft
faces, face extrude/revolve, sketch on face, holes, sheet metal and plastic picks, primitives,
appearance faces, analyses. Once per command (not again for commands run by commands); the
active-frame fallback stays for commands without a table. Nothing changes while every
  placement is the identity.
- component.move_bodies keeps a body where it is in the world (Document.body_offsets: from the
new component's frame to the one it was made in; renames and deleted components follow).
- The UI reads the placed model (Session::world_state) for display, picking, sketch editing and
dialogs; live previews use it once anything is placed.
Tests (engine): sketches and construction planes move (and turn) with the component; world
picks fillet, sketch, hole and make boxes in a moved component; a pick on a pasted instance;
move_bodies keeps the world place there and back; a sketch on a face follows a Move feature.
QA's s34 now runs.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 d40ef5bbdc 3D sketch: with 3D Sketch on, the Line, Spline and Point tools take points off the sketch plane, snapping to model vertices, edges and faces and to drawn 3D points (segments that stay on the plane are ordinary sketch lines); drawn 3D curves are wires with fit points (sketch.line3d, sketch.spline3d: centripetal Catmull-Rom, sketch.point3d), a clicked 3D point gets a move triad (drag along X/Y/Z or parallel to the sketch plane: sketch.move3d, joined ends move together), Delete removes it; sweep and pipe paths may mix 3D curves with sketch curves; control: ui.triad, ui.worldToScreen

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 d2068e07a3 Selection inside sketches: double-click a curve selects the chain joined to it end to end (sketch.chain; shared or coincident ends), dimensions and constraint glyphs are selectable like other entities (Sel::SketchConstraint: Ctrl/Shift toggle, window and crossing boxes take them, Delete removes them with the rest), boxes leave out the origin, and the selection filter has sketch curves, points, dimensions and constraints

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 ae4570ed39 Colours in exports from materials and appearances; Appearance command
- Bodies export (STEP, 3MF) in the colour they are shown in: an appearance,
else the physical material's look, else the colour the body was imported
with (Document::body_color / painted). Physical materials used to export
  no colour at all.
- AppearanceCommand (Modify): a colour per body ("#rrggbb" or [r, g, b];
null follows the material again), kept in the design and across renames.
- Material looks move to solvecraft-doc (material_color); the viewport draws
appearance, material or imported colour, as exported.
- Engine test: brass and red ABS bodies export, re-import with their RGB, and
keep it through open and export again.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 f6b42f8750 Sketch drag feel like Fusion (sketch.drag): the grabbed point goes exactly to the cursor, a line (spline, conic) slides with it, a circle or arc grabbed on its edge changes radius about its centre (an ellipse its minor radius), the centre moves the circle; the grabbed geometry is held while the rest moves as little as it can; fixed and fully constrained geometry stays. Dragging a curve of the sketch being edited now drags it (it used to start a box selection). Tests for per-entity fully-constrained feedback

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 bbd0a19260 Sketch Palette, docked at the right while sketching: line type of the selected curves (normal, construction, centerline), Look At, and options kept with each sketch (sketch.options: Sketch Grid, Snap, Slice, Show Profile, Show Points, Show Dimensions, Show Constraints, Show Projected Geometries, 3D Sketch), the degrees of freedom, Finish Sketch. Slice cuts the model at the sketch plane; Snap off places points at the cursor
