phanoob 1f7f37d1ef Cut an extrude's profiles that stand apart in one boolean (#848)
When an extrude cuts with profiles whose outlines stay more than 1 µm apart (the letters of a text), their tools are apart too, so they are joined and cut from the body in one boolean instead of one per profile. A ten-letter text cut drops from about 13 s to 1.5 s with the same result. Sheet metal targets and touching profiles keep cutting tool by tool. Tapered extrudes are unaffected.

Jonas Wrede fe1e5f1b95 test: regression test for #623: blind bore into a joined boss fails to mesh (fails on v0.7.0, passes on main) (#654)
Adds a regression test for the blind bore into a joined boss (#623).

Kevin Ravensberg 24cff445ad fix: fuse a loft standing on a face instead of returning touching shells (#577)
Fixes #396. A union that would come back as shells touching over an area is rejected and the face-in-face case is fused exactly; line and point contact stay as before.

Scott BowdenandClaude Opus 5.5 3159fc0dd0 fix(kernel): a small overlap is not taken for bodies apart or inside (#484)
When sample points say two bodies are apart or one is inside the other, the facetings are now checked for surfaces passing through each other; if they do, the boolean is computed instead of shortcut. If it still can't be intersected, the sampled answer is kept as a flagged, unverified result, and Interference lists such pairs as "could not be checked" with the reason. Fixes #442 and #443.

CypherNaugh_0x 3dc0a6024e Merge remote-tracking branch 'origin/main' into fix/loft-section-order

CypherNaugh_0x 2406957039 A loft gives the same body whatever the order of its sections: the ruled side faces were parameterised from the first section to the last, and a loft cut that touches the body along an edge (a fall lofted from a shelled basin's whole outline down to a drain pad) worked for one order and failed for the other, with an Option::unwrap() panic inside the kernel's intersection or "shell not oriented and closed" from the planar fallback. The loft now builds its sections in one canonical order (first-to-last step with a positive largest component), so either order gives the same, working body. Tests: the basin fall cut, joined and as a new body in both orders and with the pad in every corner (engine), and the kernel loft's volume and cut in both orders, including large-below and planes facing down 2026-10-11 12:23:22 +02:00
bherbruck c1d819f235 feat: preserve body history and placed modelling workflows
Record ownership transfers in the timeline so earlier Join/Cut membership,
world placement, machining data and styles survive component moves, edits,
independent copying, undo and reopening. Preserve pending positions in history
snapshots and keep constructor transfers ordered during feature redefinition.

Retain shallow sheet pockets and exact planar intersection islands through
unfold/refold, with depth-aware flat previews and DXF export. Store explicit
3D wire coordinate spaces and migrate known legacy provenance without moving
saved points or analytic fits.

Infer unique eligible cylindrical Emboss targets, align Revolve manipulators
with actual extent geometry, and discard obsolete preview errors after input
correction. Certify constructed and immutable imported face styles using exact
source metadata while preserving legacy face names. Upgrade designs to format10
with bounded validation and geometry-preserving legacy migration.

bherbruck 0398a813c8 feat: strengthen sketches, feature editing, and independent assemblies 2026-10-11 02:44:31 -04:00
bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 d10312b7fd Command ids are SolveCraft's own: 173 ids that were another product's internal command ids become dotted, lower-case ids (<area>.<thing>[.<variant>]: solid.extrude, sketch.rectangle.two_point, sheet.flange, joint.drive, ...), in the registry, toolbar, dialogs, shortcuts, palette, control channel, MCP, examples, scenarios and docs
The old ids live only in crates/engine/src/legacy_ids.rs (the legacy migration table): find_command maps them, so old scripts, recipes and control calls keep working, and saved shortcuts, recent and pinned commands are migrated on load (designs store no command ids). Parity maps the observed catalog ids to ours through xtask/data/fusion-ids.tsv. The agent rule now reads: our own dotted id, never another product's. Cargo.toml's repository points at github.com/bherbruck/solvecraft.
