NOWN-DEV e95e32d72a Sheet metal: a cut names the pieces it parts from the base (#1338)
A sheet-metal cut that parts pieces from the base names them, and the guide explains it.

NOWN-DEV d7a4a29ce3 Flat-pattern DXF for a laser shop: layers by role, dashed bend lines, bend notes, a file per body (#1324)
Closes #1284. sheet.export_dxf writes layers by role (OUTLINE, CUT, TEXT or ETCH, dashed BEND_UP/BEND_DOWN, optional BEND_NOTES, POCKET_<side>_Z…_MM and PERFORATION), inner contours before the outline; text: cut|etch, bend_notes and note_height, per_body files. Letters are derived from the timeline, nothing new is saved (format unchanged). I merged main in (the export's parameter list keeps main's pocket layer names). Checked on main + this branch: cargo check --workspace, the engine cmd::sheet tests (160) and the io DXF tests.

NOWN-DEV d824d36821 Convert to Sheet Metal takes bent parts as modelled: radius and chamfer bends, holes (#1314)
A Convert to Sheet Metal bend point can now lie on a bend modelled with its radius (a cylinder tangent to two flat faces) or in the middle of a chamfer; either becomes one bend at the faces' virtual sharp, with the rule's radius. Holes and engravings carry over. Bend points on edges convert as before. Recorded under format 21. Tests in cmd::sheet::convert_tests; the sheet-metal guide is updated.

NOWN-DEV 764fcaa5a8 Sheet metal: the flat-pattern DXF writes ellipses and splines exactly (#1096)
sheet.export_dxf writes an AutoCAD 2000 drawing with ELLIPSE and SPLINE entities for ellipses, splines and text outlines instead of chords, with curves: arcs for machines that read only lines and arcs. Perforation circles go through the same writer. Closes #1089.

NOWN-DEV 4687e3b073 Convert to Sheet Metal keeps a plate's round holes round (#977)
The plate check compared the face outline's area (from the tessellation, so each hole was a polygon of chords) with the exact volume, and refused plates with a few small holes. Where the outline runs along a cylinder about the plate's normal it is now an arc of that circle; coaxial pieces of one radius are one wall, so a hole split into two, three or four faces is one circle. The check passes with its tolerance unchanged, and the flat pattern and its DXF carry one CIRCLE per hole (ARC for rounded corners and slot ends).

A round blank now converts too, so unfold_cut_refold_and_convert checks the refusal with a block thicker at one end instead of a rod.

NOWN-DEV 5c98c1e24a A hole square to a folded sheet metal panel is flat machining (#656)
A hole drilled square to a flange's panel, not only the base's, is now a flat cut-out of the sheet: it unfolds with its panel to where the bend allowance puts it, shows in the flat pattern and DXF as a circle, and survives unfold and refold. A pocket tool spans the cut-outs already inside it (a counterbore's hole), so the order they are made in no longer matters. Fixes #560.

NOWN-DEVandClaude Opus 5.5 a1cb8d4d36 feat: Convert to Sheet Metal takes a solid or a shelled body by its bend edges (#725)
Convert to Sheet Metal now takes a solid or a shelled body by its bend edges (`bends`): the faces reached from the fixed face across those edges become the sheet, keeping the part's envelope, with the flat pattern by the rule's K-factor and radius. Other edges between sheet faces are cut open. The result works with edge flanges, cuts, Unfold/Refold, the flat pattern and DXF. A conversion without `bends` is the plate conversion as before. The optional `bends` field is noted under format 17. Fixes #647.

NOWN-DEV 4ff8f3e14d feat: free-form cut-outs stay exact in sheet-metal flat patterns (#692)
Sheet-metal cut-outs and base flange outlines drawn with ellipses, splines or text stay exact curves in the flat pattern and the unfolded body; the folded body follows them with tangent arcs within 0.001 mm (#659).

NOWN-DEV 812669e861 fix: an edge flange runs along what cut-outs leave of its edge (#702)
An edge flange picked on an edge that cut-outs have partly removed is built along what is left of that edge (the stretch nearest the pick), so each side of a notch can get its own flange.

NOWN-DEVandClaude Opus 5.5 90869732a3 fix: edge flanges trim the base along their own edge and relieve bends that end beside it (#634)
An edge flange whose edge ends at an inside corner of the base now trims only the strip under its own edge, so legs and stems past that corner stay. Where the bend ends beside more of the base, the rule's bend relief (relief_width, relief_depth) is cut into the base, or a note says why it was left out.

NOWN-DEV a2f31f683d feat: flanges on flanges follow their flange's end and close at corners (#601)
An edge flange on another flange's far edge (a return) runs along that edge from end to end, following the parent's closed or cut-back corner, and returns of one feature close toward each other at convex base corners, mitred the rule's gap apart. Bends stop square where the mitre allows. Fixes #593.

NOWN-DEV 9089edfb71 fix: the bend table and bend lines follow what cut-outs leave of a bend (#607)
The bend table, flat pattern and DXF list a bend only where its centre line has material: a bend that cut-outs (or pockets that together go through the sheet) shorten keeps what is left, and one they split gets a row per piece, all with the bend's number.

Jonas Wrede 94ab54d1f5 fix(sheet): a box or cylinder cut along the sheet normal is flat machining (#541) (#550)
A Box cut, or a Cylinder cut whose axis is the sheet's normal, machines a sheet metal body like the extrude cut of its footprint: through the sheet it's a cut-out (a cylinder an exact round one in the flat pattern and DXF), part way it's a pocket. Primitives at other angles or across a bend are still refused. Un-ignores the #541 regression test. Fixes #541.

Jonas Wrede 9c94e1b96d fix(sheet): flat pattern reports cut-outs exactly as circles, lines and arcs (#542) (#552)
sheet.flat_pattern reports every cut-out exactly in a new cutout_shapes list, parallel to cutouts: a round hole as a circle, other cut-outs as their lines, arcs and (for other curves) polylines. Pockets get the same. The DXF writer and the JSON share one circle test. Un-ignores the #542 regression test. Fixes #542.

NOWN-DEVandClaude Opus 5.5 d6af554c6d feat: corner reliefs at sheet flange corners, chosen by the rule (#488)
Sheet Metal Rules get a Corner Relief Shape (notch, round or rectangular), sized by the rule's corner relief, cut where two bends meet at a corner of the base. Notch, the default, keeps existing designs as they were. File format 16.

NOWN-DEVandClaude Opus 5.5 af0440aaab feat: sketches on a sheet metal face attach to its panel (#474)
A sketch on a flat face of a sheet metal body was refused ("this face has no exact planar
source"), so the only way was a plane frozen in space. When the sheet changes (a flange's
angle, the thickness), the frozen sketch stays behind: a cut from it fails on the slanted
flange or leaves a blind pocket in the thicker sheet.

`sketch.create` with a face of a sheet metal body now attaches the sketch to the panel the
face belongs to. It keeps the face's name, `sheet:<body>:<panel>:<top|bottom>` (the panel is
the base or a flange's feature tag), and takes the panel's exact plane from its flat region
and fold each time the model is evaluated, so the sketch follows the sheet through parameter
changes, unfold and refold. Its coordinates are the flat pattern's (the bottom face's y
mirrored). A face that is gone is reported as a lost attachment, never replaced by the
nearest face. The attachment follows a renamed or copied body, shows as `sheet_face` in the
command result and as its own status in Redefine Sketch Plane. `fixed: true` still freezes.

NOWN-DEVandClaude Opus 5.5 fb4c1d74b9 feat: edge flanges with their own angle and height per edge (#447)
One edge flange feature gave all its flanges one height and one angle. A
part whose flanges lean differently took one feature per angle, and
flanges of separate features don't close toward each other, so its
corners stayed open.

- sheet.flange (edge): an entry of `edges` is a point [x, y, z] as before,
or {point, angle?, height?} whose angle and height (expressions, checked
like the feature's) replace the feature's for that edge. Bad input is
refused with the edge named. Before, the object form was read for its
point and the rest was ignored without a word.
- The feature stores its edges as FlangeEdge. An edge without values of
its own is written as the plain point it always was, so designs without
them are read and written as before; an unknown key in an edge is
  refused, not dropped.
- The edges' values are feature inputs of their own (Edge angle, Edge
height, after the feature's), so parameters, renames and
parameters.change reach them. timeline.edit names the edges again when
it changes them, so each value stays with its edge.
- SheetBody::add_flanges_each trims every edge by its own setback and
adds the flanges. The corners between them close as between equal
flanges: the closing already works from the two flanges it joins (each
one's fold and leg), so the flat pattern follows by hand from the
angles, the heights and the rule (the tests derive it).
- The Flange dialog shows a row per picked edge with an angle and a
height box (empty: the dialog's value) once more than one edge is
picked, and brings them back on Edit Feature.

NOWN-DEVandClaude Opus 5.5 0154572580 feat: close sheet flange corners at any angle (#406)
Edge flanges meeting at a corner of the base were closed only at exactly
90°; at any other angle they stayed open (a V at 72°) and the rule's gap
was not used.

The flanges of one feature now close at any convex base corner and any
bend angle: each panel end is cut square to the sheet on a line in the
flat (slanted off 90°, stored as ext plus a new per-end slope) so the
edges nearest each other, on the inner faces, run parallel the rule's gap
apart about the plane bisecting the inner faces. The construction reads
the two flanges' own angles, so it holds for unequal ones as well. At 90°
it is the extension the old code gave (reference case 69-sm-tray is
unchanged). A corner that can't close (a gap under 0.01 mm, flanges
bending opposite ways, ends that would overlap in the flat pattern) stays
open, and the flange feature reports a warning that says where and why.

A flange of a later feature leaves the corner as it was (reference case
75-sm-bracket-holes: the earlier flange keeps its length).

Tested at 72° and 90° against a hand derivation, on a trapezoid, and
every 5° from 45° to 135° on a rectangle and a trapezoid (gap exact, one
flat region without hairline edges, one valid shell holding the flat
material).

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 3b8028a040 Retire legacy reference data and the external command catalog (#302)
- Remove xtask/data/fusion-catalog.tsv and xtask/data/fusion-ids.tsv.
- Remove the legacy command-id table (crates/engine/src/legacy_ids.rs) and its use in
find_command and in the shortcut, recents and pinned-command loaders. Only SolidCraft's
dotted ids name commands; any other id is an unknown command.
- Boundary Fill's id becomes solid.boundary_fill.
- Replace the parity report with SolidCraft's own feature checklist: `cargo xtask features`
writes docs/features.md from the command registry.
- docs/oracle.md, docs/step-import.md (corpus section) and docs/iges-import.md: reference
results are being rebuilt on analytic and open-source (FreeCAD) values; see #292.
  `cargo xtask oracle` and `cargo xtask step-corpus [--iges]` write these placeholders.
- AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, README.md, ROADMAP.md and the book describe
SolidCraft as independent, with reference tests on analytic values and open-source tools,
and agents do not drive or extract data from commercial CAD products.

bherbruck c1d819f235 feat: preserve body history and placed modelling workflows
Record ownership transfers in the timeline so earlier Join/Cut membership,
world placement, machining data and styles survive component moves, edits,
independent copying, undo and reopening. Preserve pending positions in history
snapshots and keep constructor transfers ordered during feature redefinition.

Retain shallow sheet pockets and exact planar intersection islands through
unfold/refold, with depth-aware flat previews and DXF export. Store explicit
3D wire coordinate spaces and migrate known legacy provenance without moving
saved points or analytic fits.

Infer unique eligible cylindrical Emboss targets, align Revolve manipulators
with actual extent geometry, and discard obsolete preview errors after input
correction. Certify constructed and immutable imported face styles using exact
source metadata while preserving legacy face names. Upgrade designs to format10
with bounded validation and geometry-preserving legacy migration.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 0d7e456bc1 Documentation site and CI workflows
An mdBook under docs/book: a user guide (getting started, UI tour, sketching, features,
parameters, components and joints, sheet metal, plastic, files, shortcuts, MCP) and a developer
guide (CONTRIBUTING, architecture, command engine, kernel boundary, persistent naming, test
harnesses, and the existing docs/*.md pages). `cargo xtask book` generates the command reference
from `solvecraft-cli commands` and renders the screenshots with `solvecraft-cli snapshot`, then
runs mdbook. .github/workflows/pages.yml publishes the book at /solvecraft/ and the web app at
/solvecraft/app/ (skipped while the repository is private). .github/workflows/ci.yml runs
`cargo xtask ci` on pull requests. README and Help → Documentation link to the book.
