bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 d7f9f0a516 Shell of rounded parts (the first tutorial): a round thinner than the shell collapses to a sharp inner edge (as in Fusion) instead of failing; when an open face's tangent round can't follow it out, every face moves in and the opening is the open face's copy swept out through the body; spindle tori (a bottom round running round a rounded corner) are taken by the offset; shells after a drilled hole; engine tests against the analytic volumes (box with rounded vertical edges and bottom loop, the tutorial plate at 2 mm and 1.5 mm)

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 ccde7a4837 Robustness runs and the kernel fixes they found
- solvecraft-cli fuzz / fuzz-one: seeded random modelling sessions (boxes, extruded profiles with arcs, revolves; joins and cuts of boxes, cylinders and spheres, fillets, chamfers, shells, holes, patterns) on a grid that makes coincident faces and tangencies common, every step checked (command ok, every body a sound solid via the new Body::validity, volume moving the right way), plus the boolean volume identity on random primitives; one process per seed with a time limit; failures minimised to scripts
- shell/offset: corners where a curved face meets another at an angle are refined onto the moved surfaces (Newton); edges that are neither lines nor arcs are rebuilt through their moved points; one shell per piece; faces that would cross say so (not supported yet) instead of leaving a cavity inside out; flat revolved faces count as planes; the unhealed body is tried when the healed one fails
- cylinders start their seams at an odd angle (grid-aligned seams broke booleans along them)
- partial revolves of profiles touching the axis build no zero-area face on the axis
- booleans on bodies in several pieces retry a piece at a time
- regression tests for each, and a fixed set of seeds in cargo test

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 141f3acc85 Split pieces stay separate faces: Measure counts them apart and Offset Face moves only the picked piece
The merged face count no longer joins faces across a Split Face line, and Offset Face's same-surface grouping stops there. A piece whose move the body's topology cannot follow (its neighbour stays put) is swept along its normal and joined on or cut in, giving walls along the split line as in Fusion. Engine test: a split box top counts 7 faces; one half up 5 (27000 mm³), the other down 3 (25200 mm³).

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 4c8f080691 Faces split on purpose stay split: the body remembers its Split Face lines, export and healing keep the pieces apart
Split Face records the new edges as polylines on the body (Body::split_lines); the document carries them through later features. STEP export no longer joins pieces of one surface across such a line, and healing (fillets, chamfers, booleans, shell, draft) no longer merges coplanar pieces there, while incidental pieces (boolean leftovers, seam halves) still merge as before. Tests: plane and cylinder splits keep their face count through a STEP round trip (and join without the record), a second split keeps both lines, and an engine test exports a split box after a fillet with 8 faces.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 ea3dd0ed6e 3MF: export, and 3MF/STL import as mesh bodies
Export: ExportCommand/CLI --out/MCP export with .3mf write a 3MF Core package
([Content_Types].xml, _rels/.rels, 3D/3dmodel.model; millimetres), one
mesh object and build item per body, named after it, vertices shared and
welded watertight (T-junctions between faces split), base-material colours
when bodies carry one (STEP colours now ride on bodies). Tessellation as
for STL. File > Export 3MF.

Import: doc.open/drag-drop/CLI/MCP open accept .3mf and .stl; Insert Mesh
(ParaMeshInsertAlignCommand) adds them to a design as a MeshImport feature.
Kernel mesh bodies render, measure exactly, move and export; solid
features refuse them with a clear error. 3MF reading flattens components
and build transforms, converts units, reads colours; sizes, entries,
nesting and element counts are capped.
