Sheet metal rims and bend ends attach by name (<panel>:rim.<edge>, <flange>:rim.bend0/1), as do face profiles from sheet faces. A plain or counterbored Hole square to a panel is machined into the flat pattern. Boss, Lip, Rest and Snap Fit keep the body's history and name their own faces. Hole tools name their faces by the part they cut, and pattern copies as copies. A pattern's repeated fillets keep the body's history. Loft sides are named by their section curves. A piece Offset Face moved off its face's plane attaches by its own qualified name. Sides of a profile grown to overlap a flush body keep their sketch line's name, so walls a Join merged take a sketch (#681). Face sketch 75% -> 90%, offset plane 75% -> 90%, press-pull/extrude 64% -> 85% in the action matrix; baseline blessed.

Main was red since #577 and #644 landed together. Seed 16's pattern copy rests half past the block's edge; the join used to add 72 mm³ past the edge silently and is now correctly refused. The test records that; proper fusion is tracked separately.

Joining ribs flush with a lid's window left a zero-thickness slit far from the rib (the planar fallback glued back only one of the faces its pieces shared) and displaced the tool on the other joins. Gluing now joins every shared face pair, coincident-face separation checks there is material behind a pushed face for every join, and any join or cut that needed a retry must be closed, keep volume monotonic and leave the part unchanged outside the tool's box, or it is refused with an error. Feature command replies carry the feature's warning.

The loading box was a full-window modal whose backdrop covered the custom title bar. It is now a light overlay under the title bar, so dragging, snapping, resizing and the window buttons keep working during open, import and recovery. The timeline rebuild shows feature N of M, and Cancel or Esc stops it at the next feature (solidcraft_doc::progress). Recovery restore now runs off the window thread too. A control or MCP doc.open or import is answered once the file is in and doesn't block frames; edits sent meanwhile wait their turn. The web build still opens in place.

component.insert_design adds a component holding another design's solid bodies, linked to its file (stored relative to the assembly once saved). component.update_links reads the linked designs again, component.break_link keeps the bodies and forgets the file, and component.links lists them. Links are saved under format 16; an older build keeps the bodies and drops the link.
Fixes#533
An edge flange whose edge ends at an inside corner of the base now trims only the strip under its own edge, so legs and stems past that corner stay. Where the bend ends beside more of the base, the rule's bend relief (relief_width, relief_depth) is cut into the base, or a note says why it was left out.

Fixes#396. A union that would come back as shells touching over an area is rejected and the face-in-face case is fused exactly; line and point contact stay as before.
Fixes#602. Collinear-edge merging, piece naming and the dialog preview each work in one pass instead of quadratic loops; the issue's example goes from 86 s to 5.1 s.
Fillet fit: reduce lowers the radius only where it doesn't fit: picked edges are grouped where they can limit each other (sharing a face or vertex), and each group gets the requested radius where it fits, otherwise the largest that does. Refs #293.

A flat face that no construction certificate names on its own now attaches by its exact history name (a new lineage face certificate): cut walls and floors, chamfer faces, each pattern or mirror copy, side walls a Join merged, and the pieces a later feature split a face into. Construction certificates still come first; a seed keeps its certificate when it is patterned. Two flush extrudes of one outline joined end to end keep their exact history in the prism boolean. Face sketch 52% -> 71%, offset plane 52% -> 71%, press-pull/extrude from face 41% -> 60% in the action matrix; baseline blessed.

New view.apply command restores a named view, a standard view or any camera (view state, not an undo step); the desktop viewport follows it and the browser's Restore uses it. The MCP screenshot tool takes a named view or a camera. Un-ignores the #528 regression test. Fixes#528.

The Flatpak app id, desktop/metainfo/MIME file names, icon name and the window's Wayland app_id / X11 class are now ai.storyteller.solidcraft, the id the ArtCraft launcher expects.
Existing Flatpak installs move over: the Pages repo marks app/ai.storyteller.solvecraft end-of-life with a rebase to the new id, so flatpak update offers the switch and Flatpak carries ~/.var/app along. A new install next to the old one copies settings and autosaves on first launch through a read-only grant on the old data folder. The metainfo declares <replaces>/<provides>, the desktop entry X-Flatpak-RenamedFrom, and AppImages drop the menu entry an older AppImage installed. deb/rpm upgrades remove the old-named files.

A save with cache: true also stores a small bounded PNG thumbnail (240 × 150, at most 256 KiB, keyed to the exact document) made from cached meshes only. Home uses it when its local picture is missing, without rebuilding the design; ordinary saves and downloads still omit it. Closes#303.

A point dimensioned from linked geometry (projected, included or intersected) keeps its side when a parameter moves the link's source past it: the solve reads sides and turns from the stored state instead of from beside the moved line, both on recompute and when editing the sketch.

A design can define its own physical materials (material.create, material.edit, material.delete): name, density and an optional look. They work everywhere built-in materials do: assignment, mass properties, colours and configuration cells. Stored in user_materials, an additive field under format 16. Un-ignores the #554 regression test. Fixes#532.

An edge flange on another flange's far edge (a return) runs along that edge from end to end, following the parent's closed or cut-back corner, and returns of one feature close toward each other at convex base corners, mitred the rule's gap apart. Bends stop square where the mitre allows. Fixes#593.

The bend table, flat pattern and DXF list a bend only where its centre line has material: a bend that cut-outs (or pockets that together go through the sheet) shorten keeps what is left, and one they split gets a row per piece, all with the bend's number.

MCP batch takes verbose: false for compact replies: feature steps leave out the full body list and sketch steps the ids they repeat outside created. Feature replies now also list changed_bodies and removed_bodies next to created_bodies, so a compact reply still shows every effect of a step. Un-ignores the #530 regression test. Fixes#530.

A Box cut, or a Cylinder cut whose axis is the sheet's normal, machines a sheet metal body like the extrude cut of its footprint: through the sheet it's a cut-out (a cylinder an exact round one in the flat pattern and DXF), part way it's a pocket. Primitives at other angles or across a bend are still refused. Un-ignores the #541 regression test. Fixes#541.

Faces that a sheet fold or unfold moves keep their names: points on a moved panel are taken back through the panel they lie on to where the sheet held them before the feature, and named from the faces there. Un-ignores the #535 regression test. Fixes#535.

Tapered extrudes accept profiles that mix lines and tangent arcs (slots, D-profiles, rounded rectangles): each arc keeps its centre and angles and its radius moves with the taper, so its side stays an exact cone; lines are offset and mitred. An arc meeting another edge at a corner is still refused. Un-ignores the #546 regression test. Fixes#546.

Draft extends the picked faces to every face on the same surface, so one pick on a cylinder's side (stored as two halves) drafts the whole round wall into a frustum. Un-ignores the #547 regression test and adds a kernel test for a round hole. Fixes#547.

An extrude cut or join only extends its tool past an end that lies on a target face, and by less than half the way to the next face level, so a tool can no longer cut through a thin floor beyond an end that touches no face. Un-ignores the #545 and #544 regression tests. Fixes#545.

sheet.fold tests its fixed point against the whole sheet body, so a point far above or below the sheet is refused atomically, while a point on any face (including a flange's leg) still works. A stored fold whose point ends up in the air recomputes, keeps its side and warns. Un-ignores the #371 regression test. Fixes#371.

sheet.flat_pattern reports every cut-out exactly in a new cutout_shapes list, parallel to cutouts: a round hole as a circle, other cut-outs as their lines, arcs and (for other curves) polylines. Pockets get the same. The DXF writer and the JSON share one circle test. Un-ignores the #542 regression test. Fixes#542.

Hidden bodies, occurrence placements, sketches and origin items are saved with the design and come back when it is reopened. Visibility is still not an undo step, but hiding or showing something now counts as an unsaved change. Additive field under format 16. Fixes#531.

Construction axes, points and planes resolve their picks against the model as their component sees it (in the root, every placement, pasted instances too), and a Hole picked on another component's body cuts that body. components-arm 355 -> 502/594 and joints-hinge 304/390 -> 371/408 in the action matrix.

sheet.flange refuses the sheet values its rule owns (thickness, K-factor, bend radius, reliefs, hem gap) instead of silently ignoring them, and says to use a rule. Un-ignores the #570 regression test. Fixes#570.

A stored fold whose fixed point drifts off the sheet after a parameter change keeps the side the point lies on and shows a warning instead of breaking the timeline. A new fold still refuses a fixed point off the sheet, atomically. Un-ignores the #370 regression test. Fixes#370.

A copy added by raising a body pattern's count after a rename is numbered after the highest stored copy, so it no longer takes the number the rename freed. Un-ignores the #372 regression test and adds one for undo/redo and save/reopen. Fixes#372.

Refs #303. file.save / file.save_as can store a warm native geometry cache (cache: true, off by default) keyed to the document hash, app version and adapter revision. Opening shows a bounded preview from it until the rebuilt session replaces it. Any cache failure counts as a miss.
Fixes#374. Feature replies gain created_bodies: the bodies the new feature made, apart from the ones it changed or that were already there. Documented in the execute tool description and docs/mcp.md.
Fixes#527. Bodies are paired by a sort-and-sweep over their bounding boxes, and the cap moves from 200 bodies to 20,000 overlapping pairs per call (reported as truncated / skipped_pairs).
sketch.text and sketch.edit_text take an optional font: an installed family or a .ttf/.otf/.ttc file. Edit Text gets a Font field. The font is kept with the text under format 16; no fonts are bundled, and the font search is bounded.
Fixes#513

solid.move takes copy: true to keep the source bodies and transform a new copy of each, with a Create Copy box in the Move dialog. Designs without it save and load exactly as before.
Display meshes also bound the angle one facet turns, so bends and small holes on a large body are drawn round instead of as chamfers or squares. Bounded per face, and only the display mesh changes.

Sheet Metal Rules get a Corner Relief Shape (notch, round or rectangular), sized by the rule's corner relief, cut where two bends meet at a corner of the base. Notch, the default, keeps existing designs as they were. File format 16.

Text outlines count as drawn geometry when picking profiles, and "all profiles" leaves out the counters of letters (the holes of A, B, 8), so text extrudes as letters with their holes whether or not other curves are drawn next to it.

When a body that was already cut into pieces is cut again, the new pieces are numbered past the names already taken ("Bar (2)"), instead of reusing "Bar (1)".

When sample points say two bodies are apart or one is inside the other, the facetings are now checked for surfaces passing through each other; if they do, the boolean is computed instead of shortcut. If it still can't be intersected, the sampled answer is kept as a flagged, unverified result, and Interference lists such pairs as "could not be checked" with the reason. Fixes#442 and #443.

A hole positioned on a face now follows that face along the hole's own axis instead of sliding to the face's nearest point. When the face no longer reaches the position, the hole stays where it was placed and the feature says so.
