CypherNaugh_0x 81be4e74b8 browser.visibility hides and shows sketches, bodies, construction geometry and origin items (items: ids or names, or a whole folder; visible: bool), so agents can hide helper sketches over MCP. What is hidden moved from the egui UI state into the engine session (view state: not saved, not an undo step); the desktop eye toggles and menus use it, headless renders and fit leave hidden items out, and document.inspect, sketch.inspect and ui.inspect report visibility. ui.set still accepts hiddenBodies, hiddenOrigin, hiddenSketches and shownSketches. Tests: helper sketches hide and show in the engine (hostile input changes nothing) and through MCP only 2026-10-10 14:33:56 -04:00
bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 4562c8e5ba Save prompt on quit: "Save changes to <name>?" for every unsaved design
The title bar's ×, File ▸ Quit, the OS closing the window (Alt+F4, Cmd+Q, the window manager:
close_requested is cancelled until the designs are answered) and app.quit / ui.window close all
go through documents::request_quit, which asks Save / Don't Save / Cancel once per design with
unsaved changes. Save saves (Save As for a never-saved design) and quits only if it saved; Don't
Save discards (no recovery copy is kept); Cancel or Esc stays open. Closing a tab asks the same
question (now titled "Save changes to <name>?"); New and Open never replace an unsaved design
(they open a tab). The web app asks through beforeunload while a design is unsaved. Control:
ui.documents {action: quit, answer: save|dont_save|cancel}, app.quit {force}. Tests: quit with
Save then Don't Save across two tabs, Cancel, a Save that saves nothing, Save As; scenario
s43_quit_asks_to_save.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 d10312b7fd Command ids are SolveCraft's own: 173 ids that were another product's internal command ids become dotted, lower-case ids (<area>.<thing>[.<variant>]: solid.extrude, sketch.rectangle.two_point, sheet.flange, joint.drive, ...), in the registry, toolbar, dialogs, shortcuts, palette, control channel, MCP, examples, scenarios and docs
The old ids live only in crates/engine/src/legacy_ids.rs (the legacy migration table): find_command maps them, so old scripts, recipes and control calls keep working, and saved shortcuts, recent and pinned commands are migrated on load (designs store no command ids). Parity maps the observed catalog ids to ours through xtask/data/fusion-ids.tsv. The agent rule now reads: our own dotted id, never another product's. Cargo.toml's repository points at github.com/bherbruck/solvecraft.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 3f44110b59 One frame for every window (frame.rs): command dialogs dock right and shrink to their content (260 to 380 px, 560 for table dialogs), floating windows are centred and capped (460 px, 760 for tables); header and footer rows right-align without stretching the dialog, long texts wrap; all windows migrated; tests: no egui::Window outside frame.rs, every command's dialog and the floating windows measured within limits

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 bdc15d2204 Start page and document tabs
Start page (shown on launch without a file, and from the house button in the application bar):
New Design, Open, recent designs (kept in the preferences, newest first) and built-in samples,
each card with a picture rendered from the design in the background. Samples are scripts of
engine commands: the sample plate plus a sheet metal bracket, a hinge assembly with a revolute
joint, a plastic enclosure (lip, bosses, rest, snap fit), a bolted flange with a parametric
circular pattern and a vent plate with a parametric rectangular pattern (test: all build
without a failing feature).

Several open designs as tabs in the application bar: each keeps its own session (undo,
selection), camera and hidden/shown items; + and Ctrl+N open a new design, opening a file or a
sample uses a new tab unless the current design is blank, closing a tab with unsaved changes
asks Save / Don't Save / Cancel. Control channel: ui.documents and ui.home (docs/control-protocol.md).
