Christian Svensson 48cc80bef5 solve.fluid: backend "cpu" (the default) or "gpu"
The CPU stays the default, so every existing result and fixture is
bit-identical; "gpu" steps on the device FIELDCRAFT_GPU picks through the
registered backend, and is an error when the build has none. The desktop
app and the CLI (hence the MCP server) register fieldcraft-lbm-gpu at
start; the summary names what stepped. Hostile values are errors.

Part of #529.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 a079e51f9d repo: move to github.com/tangency-labs/fieldcraft (URLs, updater, Pages)
The updater's release endpoint, docs, README, release notes and the Pages
URL point at the tangency-labs org. App IDs (io.github.jyviko.fieldcraft)
stay unchanged so installed copies keep their identity and settings.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 af9b4bb222 app: startup steps in the crash journal, and a Windows exception filter (#299)
egui-wgpu's startup hook and the app's own steps (window, app setup, viewport
pipelines, first frame, running) go into the journal. On Windows,
native_crash.rs (adapted from SolidCraft, the only module allowed unsafe code;
the app crate now denies instead of forbids it) writes the exception code,
faulting module and offset and a minidump. A nightly/on-demand CI job runs the
app's tests on Windows, including a child that faults on purpose.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 7a5363e07b app: leave SIGHUP alone so nohup keeps the app running (#248 follow-up)
#445 also closed the window on SIGHUP, which overrides the SIG_IGN that
`nohup fieldcraft &` sets so the app outlives its terminal. A safe API cannot
ask whether a signal was ignored at launch, so SIGHUP keeps its default.
SIGTERM and SIGINT still close the window the normal way.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 02b408c499 app: a termination signal closes the window the normal way, not as a crash (#248)
SIGTERM, SIGINT and SIGHUP ended the process on the spot: no last autosave,
and the crash journal left behind became an unclean_exit report at the next
start. The report on #248's machine ("ended without a clean exit between
commands (last: control ui.capture)") has that exact signature and is
reproduced by kill -TERM after a capture; 500 captures of the solved
crank-mirror (50 app runs), 30 CLI snapshots and 250 MCP headless
screenshots exited cleanly. The first signal now asks the window to close;
a second ends the process with the signal's default action.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 7dd50a3ca4 App: run update jobs in the background and swap the release in after closing (#231)
The desktop app checks, downloads, verifies and stages on its own threads for the window, and
once the window has closed (autosave closed) swaps a staged release in and starts it. Staging
folders an earlier update left are removed at start-up. Automatic checks stay off under
--control automation and CI unless FIELDCRAFT_UPDATE_HOST names a test server.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 ed9ec7748d App: send usage batches to PostHog Cloud EU from a background thread (#238)
ureq over rustls (ring) with the OS certificate verifier. The project key
is the build-time FIELDCRAFT_POSTHOG_KEY; without it nothing is asked or
sent. FIELDCRAFT_TELEMETRY=0 turns it off; --control and CI runs only with
FIELDCRAFT_TELEMETRY=1. A failed post drops its batch.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 854ced2888 release: a Maintainer address the .deb accepts; no Debian changelog for an upstream package
lintian rejected the Maintainer field without an e-mail address, and the missing
changelog of a package built upstream rather than by a distribution.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 c8bd641e27 release: Linux .deb and .rpm packages (#125)
cargo-deb and cargo-generate-rpm (pinned) package the same stripped binaries and files as the
tar.gz under /usr. The release job compares the file lists, runs lintian, and installs both
packages in Ubuntu 22.04 and Fedora containers.

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 858b6e9dee app: reverse-DNS app id and the Windows executable icon
The window's Wayland app_id / X11 class is io.github.jyviko.fieldcraft, the id the release
packages use for the .desktop entry and the macOS bundle (#72). Windows builds embed
assets/app-icon/icon.ico in fieldcraft.exe through embed-resource (MIT, a build dependency only).

jyvikoandClaude Opus 5.5 d5bd74570f Rename the project to FieldCraft
Crates fieldcraft-*, binaries fieldcraft and fieldcraft-cli, the .fieldcraft file (format tag
fieldcraft/1, manifest fieldcraft.json), FIELDCRAFT_* environment variables, the MCP server
name, egui widget ids (fc_*), the app icon document FieldCraft.icon and its generated family,
docs and licences. No compatibility shim: no files of the earlier name exist.
