Adapted from SolidCraft's claim bot to FieldCraft's rules: a claim
assigns and labels claimed, only help wanted / good first issue issues
are open to contributors, in progress is the core team's and can't be
claimed, and no visible progress for 14 days frees the issue.

Pushes, the schedule and Run workflow go to the runner labelled by the
repository variable SELF_HOSTED_RUNNER (tangency-labs/ci-runner, label
fieldcraft-ci); pull requests always stay on GitHub's runners, so fork
code never reaches it. Unset the variable and every job is back on
ubuntu-24.04. macOS and Windows jobs are unchanged.

The updater's release endpoint, docs, README, release notes and the Pages
URL point at the tangency-labs org. App IDs (io.github.jyviko.fieldcraft)
stay unchanged so installed copies keep their identity and settings.

The drawing tests skipped silently without an adapter. Under
FIELDCRAFT_REQUIRE_GPU=1 they fail instead, and the snapshot and MCP
screenshot tests require a GPU renderer. CI runs them with
FIELDCRAFT_GPU=software on lavapipe.

egui-wgpu's startup hook and the app's own steps (window, app setup, viewport
pipelines, first frame, running) go into the journal. On Windows,
native_crash.rs (adapted from SolidCraft, the only module allowed unsafe code;
the app crate now denies instead of forbids it) writes the exception code,
faulting module and offset and a minidump. A nightly/on-demand CI job runs the
app's tests on Windows, including a child that faults on purpose.

fieldcraft-cli snapshot script.json --out shot.png [--view] [--size WxH]
draws the engine's framed scene (engine::view::frame, shared with the CPU
render_png) with the viewport's GPU pipelines offscreen: hardware GPU, then
a software one, then the CPU rasterizer (FIELDCRAFT_GPU=auto|hardware|
software|cpu). CI installs lavapipe so the GPU path runs there.

The release job (the only one that signs SHA256SUMS.txt or touches a GitHub Release) now needs
every verify and packaging job; packaging no longer waits for verify. Verify jobs restore
develop's CI caches through shared keys (same CARGO_* env as ci.yml); saving stays main-only.

A plan job picks the base (the newest develop commit whose push run
passed and that HEAD contains; a pull request's merge base; none for
nightly and manual runs, which run everything) and runs cargo xtask
affected. The ci job runs `cargo xtask ci --affected BASE`; heavy and
oracle run only when the change reaches the solvers, the oracle or
everything. Cancelling superseded push runs stays: the tip's run covers
everything since the last green one.

The release job signs SHA256SUMS.txt into SHA256SUMS.txt.minisig with rsign2 when the
FIELDCRAFT_SIGNING_KEY secret exists, and checks the signature against the public key the app
is built with; without the secret the draft is unsigned, the run warns and the notes say the
app cannot install that release itself. docs/releasing.md says how the key is set up, kept
and rotated; docs/updates.md describes checking, verifying and installing, the web app's
Reload to update, and FIELDCRAFT_UPDATE_HOST for tests. privacy.md, control-protocol.md,
web.md and the roadmap say what changed.

cargo-deb and cargo-generate-rpm (pinned) package the same stripped binaries and files as the
tar.gz under /usr. The release job compares the file lists, runs lintian, and installs both
packages in Ubuntu 22.04 and Fedora containers.

pages.yml builds apps/fieldcraft-web (trunk build --release, wasm-opt)
on pushes to main and develop and on manual runs, and deploys the site
to https://jyviko.github.io/fieldcraft/ only from main (releases).
Develop merges that touch code build without deploying, so a broken
web build shows up before a release. Trunk is a pinned release binary
checked against its SHA-256; actions are pinned by commit.

Every Cargo update changes the licences file, which Dependabot cannot regenerate, so all its pull
requests failed the licences check before testing anything. CI regenerates it for them and a new
workflow commits it. num-bigint 0.5 alone cannot build: the predicates' BigInt is num-rational's.

Nothing checked Linux beyond x86_64. A weekly and on-demand workflow
builds fieldcraft and fieldcraft-cli on a native arm64 runner (release
profile, as shipped), runs both binaries and the CLI and engine tests
there, and cross-builds both for riscv64gc-unknown-linux-gnu with
Ubuntu's GNU toolchain, linked, then runs them under QEMU. The GUI opens
Wayland, X11 and GL at run time, so the cross build needs no target
system libraries beyond libc.
The RISC-V job is adapted from SolidCraft's CI.

The release pipeline's scripts and metadata were exercised only by a
full release run. A workflow of a few seconds, no Rust build, now checks
them on every push to develop and pull request that touches
.github/workflows or packaging, and on demand: actionlint (pinned,
checksum-verified, with shellcheck on every run: script), shellcheck on
the packaging scripts and AppRun, a parse and PSScriptAnalyzer pass
(errors and warnings) over the Windows scripts, xmllint on the macOS
property lists, desktop-file-validate on the desktop entry, and the
entry's StartupWMClass against the app id the window sets.
Adapted from SolidCraft's packaging-lint.yml (itself from PhotoCraft's).

Dependabot opens one grouped pull request a week per ecosystem against
develop: compatible Cargo updates together (a breaking release on its
own) and every action together, keeping the SHA pins and their version
comments. The SolidCraft pins, the truck and egui-wgpu patches taken
from that commit and craft-ui's rev move by hand; egui and eframe take
patch releases only, since their line follows SolidCraft's.
CI skips same-repo pull requests, so Dependabot's would merge untested:
the gate, the oracle and the advisories now also run on pull requests
opened by dependabot[bot]. The heavy job stays off pull requests.

A push to the release branch (or workflow_dispatch) builds the macOS universal dmg and CLI zip,
the Linux tar.gz and AppImage and the Windows zip, with the version from Cargo.toml. The last
job checks the set, writes SHA256SUMS.txt and notes saying how the macOS app was signed, and
creates or updates a draft release; it never publishes. Off the release branch it only uploads
the files as a run artifact (dry run). macOS signing and notarization use the APPLE_* secrets
when they exist and fall back to ad-hoc signing (#72).

The oracle binary (modelcraft-testkit) runs each case's recipe through the
command engine, measures its quantities by JSON pointers into step outputs
or commands, compares them with the cited references and the frozen
fixtures, and writes docs/oracle.md. 20 theory cases (patch tests of every
solid element, Timoshenko cantilevers, Lame, Kirsch, beam frequencies,
torsion and bending through couplings, explicit waves and impact, CDT
invariants), 8 published benchmarks (MacNeal-Harder patch, straight and
curved cantilevers, thick cylinder, Scordelis-Lo with solids, NAFEMS LE1,
LE10, FV32) and 10 pending cases with citations.

* test: hostile-params test runs under small session work caps
Session gains Limits, the defaults of mesh.tet.generate's max_steiner and
max_tets (production values unchanged; a parameter still overrides them;
file.open keeps them). The registry-wide hostile-params test runs on
sessions with small caps, so the needle-triangle tessellation it meshes is
refused at once instead of meshing to the 50k Steiner cap: the engine test
binary drops from ~350 s to ~20 s locally.

* ci: move heavy tests to a heavy job on main, nightly and on demand
Four slow tests are #[ignore = "heavy: ..."] (every corpus recipe, the
cantilever convergence study, the explicit-vs-modal cantilever period, the
generic-predicate rational cross-check); fast representative tests of each
area stay in the PR gate. cargo xtask test --heavy runs every ignored test
(benchmarks included) and the doc tests; cargo xtask test and ci run the
rest without the doc tests. The new heavy CI job runs it on pushes to main,
nightly and on workflow_dispatch. Branch jobs restore main's rust cache and
no longer save their own. AGENTS.md documents the rule.

* test: the three slow LBM verification cases run in the heavy job
The Stokes-drag sphere array, the staircase-pipe convergence study and the
developing-channel case are heavy (21 s, 11 s, 6 s alone); plane
Poiseuille, Couette, Taylor-Green, reproducibility and the stability
limits stay in the PR gate.

A pure-Rust CAE modeling workspace following the SolidCraft conventions:
- modelcraft-model: nodes and elements by label with hostile-input validation
- modelcraft-geometry: SolidCraft's kernel (pinned git dependency) behind our own API;
tessellation into a face-tagged boundary surface for volume meshing
- modelcraft-engine: CommandSpec registry, Session::execute with rollback and panic guard,
scripts and a journal
- modelcraft-cli: list commands, run scripts
- xtask: layers (only geometry may use solidcraft-*), assets, licences, tests, wasm, ci
- AGENTS.md, architecture, ADR 0001 (libraries and licences), roadmap, CI
