bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 7a2eb059c4 Components are frames (user bug #4)
What a component holds moves with its occurrence, and picks in the world land in the
component's frame:
- Sketches and construction planes show where their component is placed (free move, joint
drive, Capture Position); sketch.inspect reports sketch points in the world.
- frames.rs maps a command's world picks into the frame of the body they lie on (through the
inverse of its placement: a moved component or a pasted instance), points that make new
geometry into the active component's frame, and directions with them; instance body names
  ("Body1 (Pin:2)") become the component's body. Fillet/chamfer edges, shell/offset/draft
faces, face extrude/revolve, sketch on face, holes, sheet metal and plastic picks, primitives,
appearance faces, analyses. Once per command (not again for commands run by commands); the
active-frame fallback stays for commands without a table. Nothing changes while every
  placement is the identity.
- component.move_bodies keeps a body where it is in the world (Document.body_offsets: from the
new component's frame to the one it was made in; renames and deleted components follow).
- The UI reads the placed model (Session::world_state) for display, picking, sketch editing and
dialogs; live previews use it once anything is placed.
Tests (engine): sketches and construction planes move (and turn) with the component; world
picks fillet, sketch, hole and make boxes in a moved component; a pick on a pasted instance;
move_bodies keeps the world place there and back; a sketch on a face follows a Move feature.
QA's s34 now runs.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 83a10c813a Unit-less parameters used as lengths read in the design's units (feature evaluation and parameter values; bare numbers stored in inputs stay mm); document.units checks what the geometry reads (Document::length_inputs) and writes the old unit (with it as the parameter's unit) into bare unit-less parameters that would move; cached results keyed on the design's units

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 05b38e0f5f Persistent naming for sheet metal: base panel edges are named after the base sketch line they lie on, flange edges after their flange (F<feature>.<k>) and side (far / side0 / side1, top or bottom face); flanges and hems store edge names and pick by name first (a name that is gone keeps the point with a warning)

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 7c611aec0c Booleans stay in their component: a join, cut or intersect without explicit targets changes only its own component's bodies (and what it made), auto join/cut looks only at the active component; any feature takes participants: [bodies] to reach other components ("*" = every body); file format 5 gives older features in designs with components participants ["*"] so they keep their shape

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 e7aff4fef0 Persistent naming: shell, draft, offset-face and replace-face faces and hole placements store their faces' names (Feature.face_names) and are moved onto the named face before evaluating (a split face: the nearest piece, with a warning; a vanished face: the picked point, with a warning)

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 99886594e7 Persistent naming: sketches on faces store the face's name and find it by name first (an upstream feature that adds a nearer parallel face no longer moves the sketch); a vanished face falls back to the old geometric search with a warning

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 72297047d5 Persistent naming, step 1 (plan/adr/0002): faces are named from their history (a face lying on an input face keeps its name; new faces by role: F<feature>:side:<sketch curve>, :start/:top/:bottom caps, :blend:<edge>, …; split pieces #k along their spread), edges by the faces they separate (pieces ~k); names worked out lazily per body and shared by its clones; fillets and chamfers store edge names and resolve by name first (a split edge takes the piece nearest the picked point with a warning, a vanished one falls back to the point with a warning); model.faces and model.edges report names; tests for resize, suppress, reorder, an upstream split and a removed sketch segment

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 99385b1e31 Fillets and chamfers keep their edges through upstream edits: each picked edge remembers its direction and its body's bounding box when picked (Feature.edge_refs, set by the commands and by timeline.edit); a reference point that is off every edge after an edit is carried to the same place in the body as it is now and kept when an edge running the same way is there (QA s06: a fillet on the right top edge follows the edge when the sketch widens); otherwise the nearest edge with a warning as before

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 a01f191d25 Evaluation cache: every feature evaluation is kept by a key of its own inputs, the document context it reads and a digest of the model it starts from (bodies identified by the evaluation that made them, kept while passed through), shared with previews and scratch copies; setting a value back, undo, redo and repeated evaluations reuse results (a 20 × 20 patterned plate builds in 1.7 s instead of 7.5 s; undo/redo of a parameter edit 0 ms); cached and from-scratch evaluation compared in a test; numbers in docs/perf.md (solvecraft-cli bench-edit). Designs read now always get feature input names and occurrences filled in

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 d40ef5bbdc 3D sketch: with 3D Sketch on, the Line, Spline and Point tools take points off the sketch plane, snapping to model vertices, edges and faces and to drawn 3D points (segments that stay on the plane are ordinary sketch lines); drawn 3D curves are wires with fit points (sketch.line3d, sketch.spline3d: centripetal Catmull-Rom, sketch.point3d), a clicked 3D point gets a move triad (drag along X/Y/Z or parallel to the sketch plane: sketch.move3d, joined ends move together), Delete removes it; sweep and pipe paths may mix 3D curves with sketch curves; control: ui.triad, ui.worldToScreen

Export: ExportCommand/CLI --out/MCP export with .3mf write a 3MF Core package
([Content_Types].xml, _rels/.rels, 3D/3dmodel.model; millimetres), one
mesh object and build item per body, named after it, vertices shared and
welded watertight (T-junctions between faces split), base-material colours
when bodies carry one (STEP colours now ride on bodies). Tessellation as
for STL. File > Export 3MF.

Import: doc.open/drag-drop/CLI/MCP open accept .3mf and .stl; Insert Mesh
(ParaMeshInsertAlignCommand) adds them to a design as a MeshImport feature.
Kernel mesh bodies render, measure exactly, move and export; solid
features refuse them with a clear error. 3MF reading flattens components
and build transforms, converts units, reads colours; sizes, entries,
nesting and element counts are capped.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 a97af44979 M0: truck-based kernel with local fillets and chamfers, parametric document timeline
The kernel moved from monstertruck to truck: truck's booleans handle blind
holes, pockets and bosses that monstertruck's did not (see the ADR). Fillets
and chamfers on straight convex edges between planar faces are our own exact
local B-rep operation. The document holds parameters with unit-aware
expressions and a timeline that re-evaluates incrementally.
